Life in the Holy Spirit: An Interview with Jeannie Cunnion
Meet my new friend Jeannie Cunnion. She is dynamite. I love the title of her most recent book Don’t Miss Out: Daring to Believe that Life is Better with the Holy Spirit.
I find this a powerful invitation. To believe that life IS better with the Holy Spirit.
As Jeannie points out, we often misunderstand the Holy Spirit which means most of us are missing out on the fullness of God.
We can fall into the belief that He is for only the super-spiritual or the super strange.
Where does He fit in our lives? We don’t want to miss out on the fullness of the Christian life by neglecting the essential role of the Holy Spirit.
Are we available to the Holy Spirit? The same power that met with the disciples back in the book of Acts is available to us today.
We all have the Holy Spirit when we accept Jesus into our lives. It’s a package deal. But are we making ourselves available to the Holy Spirit. If Jesus needed the power of the Holy Spirit we NEED that power as well.
16 that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, 17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love, 18 may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, 19 and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.
20 Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us
That power is the person of the Holy Spirit that is working through us to do far more than we can do in our human strength.
He wants to give us victory, fruit — He wants to do so much as we make ourselves available to the Holy Spirit.
I am going to trust that life in pursuit of you is far greater than being in pursuit of what I think is best for me.

The Holy Spirit wants to transform us. He is not someone for later. He is for now.
I cannot wait for you to get excited about the power of the Holy Spirit with me.
