It’s Not Over: An Interview with Joshua Gagnon
I highlighted nearly every word of my new friend Joshua Gagnon’s book It’s Not Over: Leaving Behind Disappointment and Learning to Dream Again.
I have also listened and re-listened to the interview on Coming Alive conversations with Josh became it was packed full of so much truth and wisdom that I could not wait to share it with you!
I imagine if you are reading this you have experienced a disappointment or two at some time in life. Often these disappointments are tied to dreams that we have. Sometimes dreams that we are afraid to even whisper/let alone pray about.
Sometimes dreams that we share with everyone but wonder if anyone will see them come to pass.
Dreams of things we want to see happen outside and around us, and dreams of things we long for inside of us such as freedom from shame, insecurities, fear, or addictions.
In my conversation with Josh, I was reminded of so many incredible truths. He talked about his own learning to keep dreaming even in the midst of disappointment.
- You are limited but God is not. God is not limited in His abilities to open the doors, fling wide the dreams, to prepare and equip us for the impossible
- There is never a no unless God is establishing His greater yes for us. Now isn’t that encouraging?
- If God has prepared it, He can provide for it.
- God’s delays are not God’s denial of His purpose for us.
So many things made me want to shout glory out loud in this interview and as I read this book.
Please don’t miss the gift of this book because I believe God has a God-sized dream in you that the enemy wants to use disappointment and discouragement to keep you from moving forward.
In fact, the words of this book kept me encouraged to keep moving forward sending my book into Moody even after 11 years of different no’s from different publishing houses.
The week of this interview is when my next book idea went to Moody Publishing and I finally got a yes to that God-sized dreams.
11 years of no for God’s perfect timing of YES.
I pray you find encouragement today friend to dream big and pray bold because God is good even when His answers come in different timings and ways than we expect.
