Standing Strong: An Interview with Alli Worthington
I am not going to lie. When I started Coming Alive Conversations I made a dream guest list and Alli Worthington was at the top of that list. So I tried to not fan girl or act all weird on this interview.
Guys, I truly cannot recommend her newest book Standing Strong enough.
There is a current theme on the internet today that we can just hustle hard enough to be strong enough.
Yes there are times when we need to work hard but the reality is our strength truly comes from God. He gives us the strength to stand and to do hard things.
The One who called you, the One who placed your dream in your heart, is the same God who created the world and is holding it all together today. And he takes your talent seriously. He doesn’t want you to bury your talen, He wants you to use it for His glory.” — Standing Strong p 35
That’s the key. He gives us the strength to stand strong for His glory.
Alli shares in the interview about different hard things God has taken her and her family through. She is vulnerable and tells the truth about the hard, so she is not someone calling out, “Stand strong” that has not had to practice standing in the storm herself.
Sometimes yes to God means saying no to things that seem good but are not what God has for that season.
Sometimes you will be asked by God to follow Him in obedience and you may even disappoint people who do not understand in the process.
If there is ever a time that we need to be reminded to stand strong, this is it.
My friend, stand strong.
Not on your own strength, but on the character and strength of God.
