Autism and Acceptance: An Interview with Amy Gayhart

I started following Amy Gayhart when I saw Jamie Ivey (host of the Happy Hour Podcast— you should subscribe to that podcast you will love it!) talk about her friend Amy on Instagram.  You know how it can be easy to be intrigued by someone’s story on Instagram.

So I started following Amy and her Instagram stories called Mornings with Mabry.

Mabry is Amy’s daughter with autism and they often go on morning drives to keep Mabry happy in the early morning hours when she wakes up.

I love how Amy beautifully portrays the real-life — the good and the bad of being a mom to a special needs child.  When I learned that Amy and her husband were starting a podcast:  The Totally Worth it Podcast I wanted to make sure to have her on the podcast because 1) I wanted you to meet her 2) I wanted you to know about this awesome resource.

It is an incredible gift.

The Totally Worth it Podcast is described this way:  Plans and dreams can often feel crushed, with all hope lost. Hosted by parents of a Special Needs Family, The Totally Worth It Podcast brings to light opportunities for joy and purpose on the other side of grief.

Friends this is such a gift to us all. To know how to support those on the journey of being a special needs family.

For anyone that is experiencing the unexpected.

To find hope on the other side of grief.

I cannot wait for you to hear our interview.  Amy is hilarious and does such a wonderful job letting us in the journey of being a mom to a daughter with autism.
