Break Through with Music: An interview with Moriah Smallbone : Jennifer Hand

I love my new friend Moriah Smallbone. This was my first interview with a music artist and I LOVED hearing the behind-the-scenes of music in her new album Live from the Quarry.

Her last song on the album was released this week– Closer Than Your Next Breath.

She talked about in her interview how writing these songs was healing for her. She started not with a YES to God but a help me, God.

“What I need most is to be known seen loved”.

This is so true. We all need to be known seen and loved– and guess what. We are! By the God who created us and longs to be with us. So much so He came as Immanuel to be God with us.

That’s what we celebrate extra at this Christmas time.

In Closer than your next breath, Moriah reminds us that God is closer than our next breath. He won’t leave. Nothing can separate us from His love.

Today remember that. You are known, seen, and loved and He is closer than your next breath.
