The Power of an Introvert

Meet my dear introvert friend Holley Gerth.

If you don’t know me, you might not know– but if you have spent more than five minutes with me you will realize I am an off the charts extrovert.  Like for real– on the Myers Briggs test that tests your level of extroversion, I was literally all extrovert.

But I LOVED reading the book Holley for her fellow introverts.

And I loved even more chatting with her on the podcast.

God made each of us so uniquely.  Extrovert, introvert, helper, challenger, the life of the party, quiet behind the scenes serving the party— we are all created so uniquely to be US.

I loved what Holley said in the interview.  “Self-awareness is so important to transformation and personal growth, but a lot of people misunderstand it that it is selfishness and it is not.”

The more we learn about the ways God created us, I believe the more we can walk out His plans for us.

Self awareness is understanding who we are and using all of who we are to serve others.

— Holley Gerth

Maybe you have felt the need to apologize for being an introvert.  Maybe you have tried to fit your introvert self to squeeze into an extrovert box.

Maybe as an extrovert, you wonder why you cannot be more introspective and thoughtful with just the right words to say like your extroverted friends.

I love the reminder today that we can grow in self-awareness of how God made us and play to our strengths and learn from our weaknesses.
