Preemptive Love: An Interview with Jeremy Courtney

jeremycourtney

Today it is my honor to introduce you to Jeremy Courtney.  Jeremy, along with his wife Courtney, are the founders of Preemptive Love.

I have heard Jeremy interviewed on many podcasts. I have followed what is happening through this organization Preemptive Love in the areas of the world that tends to scare us.

It can feel too overwhelming to step in at times.

What little impact can I have on a vast problem?

It can feel too far removed at times.

These are stories we hear about on the news in a land that can seem far far away.

I received Jeremy’s book Love Anyway and read it in one sitting.  The stories of him and his wife moving to Iraq to bring hope and healing to a place in desperate need was gripping on every page.

I read this book at the same time I was headed to Greece and ended up spending time in refugee camps with refugees who had fled Syrian, Iraq, Turkey, Iran ect.

In the small rooms the refugee families lived in, they enthusiastically welcomed me in with the most amazing hospitable hearts.

They offered me so much tea and mango juice and cookies.

They had little but so much heart.

I held their hands as they told me stories that you could not believe if told.

Stories of horror that still haunt me when I think about them today.

These were not just stories on the news. These were real people with real stories and real hearts.

That is why I wanted to interview Jeremy.  Because these real people have become his friends and he can share them with us.

I invite you to lean in.  To pray.  To remember these stories are connected to people and we can make an impact.
