Invited to the Table: An Interview with Kathi Lipp
It’s not technically Monday (which is my favorite day because it is the day Coming Alive Conversations comes out and I get to introduce you to my friends). Sorry for the delay friends. For those of you that don’t know, my yes on the table before the Lord ended up taking me on a wild last-minute journey to Mozambique Africa to minister post-cyclone– so this post is a bit delayed due to some technical difficulties.
But I am back from Africa ( a post about that trip will come soon I promise) and today I get to introduce you to my amazing friend Kathi Lipp.
In our podcast, she reminds of us of how community truly should work. We are ALL invited to the table. We each get a place and a plate and what if we decided to share our plates around the table?
Recently when I was in Africa one of my favorite meals occurred at the house of the Brazilian missionary family that I was staying at. He made homemade pizzas in their tiny gas-powered oven. It was such a fun time of community, laughter and just grabbing slices as they came out of the oven. Americans and Brazilians speaking a mix of Portuguese and broken English– all laughing and diving in together.
In this podcast interview, Kathi and I discuss how we can “pass the plates” we have been given and share with each other. It is so refreshing in a world that often finds competition over community.
We also discuss a big c-word that can bring bondage to us all– clutter.
Let’s face it. We all have it. Physical clutter and heart clutter, holding onto that which we don’t need but cannot seem to figure out how to get rid of.
Kathi shares how she has learned to let go of clutter and encourages us to do the same.
