Beloved Daughters: An Interview with Katie Reid
Did I mention how excited I get to introduce you to my friends, especially those that I have been blessed to meet in real life?
Let me introduce you to my friend Katie Reid.
I have loved watching her journey over the years since we first met in real life at an amazing speaker/writer conference Speak Up. (If you sense a calling to speaking or writing click on that link to find out more because I highly recommend this conference, and I will be there so I would LOVE to meet up with you there).
She is as she calls it, a “get things done ” kind of girl.
Maybe that describes you.
You love your to-do list. You are a box checker off-er (I think I just made that verb up).
When you hear the story of Mary and Martha in the Bible you identify with Martha. The working one behind the scenes making the house look beautiful, cooking all the casseroles, and cleaning the toilets, all the in the name of hosting Jesus.
Over the years, as Katie points out, Martha has gotten a bad rap.
Can we enjoy life as a “doer” and experience the freedom and grace of living as God’s daughter?
Katie invites us a shift in perspective, celebrating that we are a daughter of God (or if you happen to be a male reader of this blog– a son of God!)
We all have a longing inside of us to experience and live out the grace of God as we walk in the love of God.
Grace is a gift to be recieved not a prize to be earned.

For the Martha’s and the Mary’s both, take a listen to this podcast. I know you will be encouraged in your position as a daughter and how celebrating that changes your life– and you can still be a do-er.
