umbrella, mud and church
good day folks. Hope this finds everyone doing well.
You may be wondering about the title of this blog. Well I must say I have learned something about umbrellas here in monsoon season lately and I thought i would share it with you. Some people say that Baptists don’t dance. Well if you give a baptist girl an umbrella in south asia during monsoon and have her walk down the street, and her name is jenn.. she better learn the umbrella dance. You see there is quite an art to walking down the street in nep. with an umbrella. You are trying to dodge taxis, cows, goats, chickens and then UMBRELLAS. I have my own and i’m walking and you must either tilt it sidewise, bring it up over someone’s head and hope they are not bringing their’s up to.. or mame and take out women and small children.. heheh.. i think i have accomplished that taking out some people as I am walking down the street. IT doesn’t make it any easier that the taxi drivers don’t think an american should walk in the rain and they think the best way to get you in their taxi is to run you over. What they don’t know is I am doing the umbrella dance!! hehehe.
ok.. so I made a sliding entrance into church today. Literaly.. i got to the campus of the church..everyone is staring at me as usual.. and I slipped in a HUGE puddle of mud doing the umbrella dance and fell in front of everyone. It’s me.. why would i do something different!
anyways– so i went to church today for the first time and it was awesome!! I am so glad that God is a God of the nations. These christians were the most beautiful christians.. and this worship was INCREDIBLE. They have given it all up for christ and they truly glow! I had a wonderful time worshipping with those beautiful people and then i went to a women’s fellowship after which was hilarious because they spoke the whole time in nepalee and i could only understand God and good.. but I realize.. wow.. isn’t God good. He brought me all the way to the other side of the earth to remind me that HIS glory, HIS name and HIS renoun is worth every knee, every tounge and every tribe confessing HE is God. Pray for me as I am learning how to be apart of shining his light.
love ya
It sounds like you are having a great time! I can see you sliding in the mud and laughing and snorting! hehe Miss you and love you!!! Love, Aunt Laura
Only Jenn Hand could go to a new church and fall in the door with her grand entrance. ha!! Reminds me of a little church in Ga. that you recently visited. ha! I heard you might be going topless over there with no shirts. If you would send me your new address I might mail you a shirt from America. BTW would you send us some of that rain. We don’t want as much as they have over there, but we would love a couple of days of good hard rain. We are praying for you…….Love ya, Momma Ellis
I can see it now!!!!!!! I’ll write soon. Is this the house fellowship you went to? Love you. Oh should I still use code? Thanks for updating~ Talking to PAPA about you, I noticed a lot of people not using it so I stopped. I love you I’ll call your mom today
It was a treat to hear your voice the other night! We are all thrilled you are there safely – even though you are having to wear the same thing over and over. I’m glad you got yourself to church somewhere!

Actually this morning I was praying for God to fill up your cup,and then I decided just for you to sing the whole song all the way through:)
Jenn,
Love you. It makes my heart fill up when I see that you have posted a blog, I can feel at ease for you in that moment. Athens is half empty without you. Keep the blogs coming and I will send more news soon.
