Fix Your Eyes: An Interview with Amy Gannett
I loved talking with Amy Gannett and reading her book Fix Your Eyes: How our Study of God Shapes Our Worship of Him.
It can be easy for us to put Christians in different categories: Theologians and just “regular Christians”.
As Amy says in the interview we often think about ourselves as either thinkers who are theologically minded or worshippers– feelers who love an experience and fellowship at church.
She says if we understand how God wired us that the more we learn about Him the more it should draw us into the worship of Him.
In a relationship with a friend or spouse, we grow in our knowledge of them and also grow in response to affection for them.
Our depth in our relationship with God should be the same.
We can think of ourselves as both thinking Christians and feeling Christians, growing in knowledge and worship of God.
We are all theologians.
“Theology should always lead to doxology– worship”
Friends lean in and listen to this interview as we talk about some amazing characteristics of God.
I left this interview even excited about studying the book of Revelation.
