Ready for Anything : Jennifer Hand

I am bringing back my friend Kathi Lipp to the podcast today and this interview could not be more timely.

We dive into her newest book called Ready for Anything: Preparing Your Heart and Home for Any Crisis Big or Small.

I knew she was writing this book last year. But the timing of it NOW is more important than ever. I love how God is in the details like having her prepared to release a book about being ready for anything in the midst of a worldwide epidemic.

During this interview, I tell her how incredibly timely her book is. Full of wisdom and practical truths about how we can make our home’s and hearts READY with tips like how much water we should have on hand and what ways we can stock our pantry with a balanced approach– not becoming the I need to stock up on ten years of canned beans person but the I am ready for a crisis so I can help my neighbor in times of need kind of person.

Only a few short days after I recorded this interview our town was devastated by a tornado. I have spent the past weeks in the heart of the devastation trying to help my neighbors in need. Watching people trying to make decisions in the midst of trauma and fatigue. Watching neighbors helping neighbors as they pick up the ruined pieces of their hearts and homes.

And I was reminded again of the incredible need for this book.

I know you will find the resources in this book and in the interview so helpful and timely and I cannot wait for you to have them.

Can I add some comforting truth to you as well.

God is always ready for anything and surprised by nothing.

While that does bring some questions up like: Why would there be a tornado ever, a pandemic ever? But for sure God why a tornado in a pandemic?

But it brings comfort to my soul that God is READY for anything.

He is ready to grant us exactly what we need for the moments of crisis that we are in.

He is our refuge and strength.

He does give power when we are weak.

He also grants wisdom.

And that’s why I love the idea of being prepared so we do not have to be scared– and we can help our neighbors.

That’s why I love the message of this book.
