Coming Alive at Advent: Day 5

advent5blog

Happy Advent Day 5.  (Ps: If you subscribe via e-mail I am sorry if you do not get this until the day after Day 5 my internet was not working at home last night so I could not post )

I just cannot stop thinking about the little phrase in Micah 2:5 but you oh Bethlehem, who are too little to be among the clans of Judah from you shall come forth of me one who is to be ruler of Israel.

God could have chosen ANYWHERE for Jesus to be born.  He could have chosen the biggest city that had the biggest impact.

The greatest tribe.

Instead– He chose the little.

The littlest in fact.  A city where they were not even counted among the clans of Judah.

Isn’t that like our God?

He takes the little and does so much.

I am wondering in what ways you feel little today?  I am not talking about humility here.

I am talking about the ways in which you feel unimportant, unimpressive, overlooked, unnoticed, not making an impact.

God chooses the ordinary to do his extraordinary throughout scripture.

Imagine what God wants to do in and through you for His glory story.  The enemy loves to tell us all the reasons we deserve to be overlooked for the kingdom of God– but when we accept the invitation to know Jesus, we carry the presence and power of Jesus.

You carry the presence and power of Jesus.
