Coming Alive at Advent: Day 3
There is just something about having someone with you.
I remember when I was getting in trouble as a kid (I mean I for sure was a perfect angel right– but there were those times) I wanted my sister with me.
Like the times I and my twin sister loved to pretend that we were on a DIY craft show (this was before things like that existed) and we would do daily “tv shows” around the Christmas tree.
Even though our mom repeatedly kept telling us to stay away from the tree… we kept doing it.
Several times that year the tree fell on me.
And there were MANY ornament casualties, which I tried to hide.
I didn’t want my mom to find my broken things, and if she did, I wanted my sister with me.
Immanuel is translated as “God with us.”
He sees our broken things. He sees the things that we have broken and want to hide.
He sees the ways our hearts feel broken at times and want to hide.
He sees this, and yet He loves us.
So He came as Immanuel– God with us.
Truthfully it sounds like a fairy tale. The ultimate rescue story as the Creator comes from heaven to be with those he created.
This is the glory of Christmas, truly what changes everything.
God. With. You!
— The King is Coming: Coming Alive at Advent p10
He is with you in the chaos of your Christmas season and He is with you as we enter a new year.
He is with you on Monday and all the way through Sunday to the next Monday.
Let’s come alive on Day 3 of Advent celebrating He is with us!
Ps:Â Don’t forget you can grab a copy of the King is Coming: Coming Alive at Advent and join us this advent.
If this encourages you I would be so blessed if you would share it with a friend.
So beautifully written and so on time for me Jenn! Facing physical (and with that financial) challenges right now. God.Is.With.Me. I wish I could get Coming Alive at Advent but too many medical things pulling our finances right now so I have it on my wish list!
Friend I am so glad that you are joining us here. Praying for those physical and financial challenges. Praying for some Christmas miracles as He reminds you in the big and small that He is WITH YOU
