Mighty God #comingaliveatChristmas#day15
When I saw a real live manger in Israel it nearly took me to my news.
I hate to burst your version of the nativity scene in your mind, but the manger is not what you see pictured in this beautiful quote.
The feeding troughs were hewn out of stone and were rough and natural.
I put my Bible in that manger and thought about how the Word became flesh and made Himself fit in the manger.
For me.
For you.
Hands that flung the stars would be scarred– for our names to be written on His heart.
Somehow that meek baby was still mighty.
The God who parted the Red Sea is your mighty God. The God who rescued Daniel from the lions mouth– your mighty God. The God who had a whale swallow Jonah and then, in grace, spit Him back out– your mighty God.
The Jesus who tore the veil between heaven and earth, He is your mighty God today. He was your mighty God yesterday and He will be your mighty God tomorrow.
