..when we are messy and broken… #comingaliveatChristmas#day9
Yesterday I was leaving my friend’s house and I felt like for a quick second I was transformed into a magical wonderland when I walked out of her front door.
Two of her neighbor’s homes (and in this particular neighborhood the houses are very close together) had the new Christmas light thing that projects spinning beautiful multicolored twinkly lights all over the house.
I had seen these on infomercials but wondered if they really worked.
But those sparkly lights made my heart sparkle. It was a beautiful colorful scene.
There is something about the reflection of light that brings great joy.
Jesus is the light of the world, and He came bringing His light.
Last year I broke several ornaments when I dropped a package of them on my floor. The broken glass pieces were everywhere. But when the light hit those broken pieces, it was a beautiful sparkly scene.
Because of Him, we do not have to hide our messy broken pieces.
We bring them to the one whose body was broken for us to redeem that which is broken in us.
whew.. that made me shout glory!
Today, come alive because the Christ of the Christmas story means we don’t have to hide the brokenness is our story.
