.. need some wisdom… #comingaliveatChristmas#day14
I remember when I was doing my clinical internship as a counselor. I was getting ready to see my first client and I was terrified.
I had my office all set up. Had the cutest pillows on the couch, soft music playing, and lots of prayers in my hearts.
I realised that day that what my client really wanted was a safe place to share her story. To bear her soul. The worst and hardest parts of her soul.
I remember feeling it was such a sacred holy space. To enter into someone’s pain and hold it.
Side note: Then there was the moment after my client left that I accidentally flipped my client file, full of notes from the previous intern who had seen the client, OFFICIAL notes– I flipped it over onto the candle and burned a giant hole in it and had to go tell the office manager on my first day that I had destroyed official files. Luckily sweet Donna the office manager was amazing and just laughed with me.
Jesus is a sacred holy space for us to share our story. To bear our soul. To pour out in prayer.
And the great news is, He has the answers and the ability to not only hold our hearts but HEAL our hurts.
Isaiah 9 is a prophecy of Jesus who was to come. It goes through some incredible names of Jesus. Names that represented who He was. Who He is. And Who He will keep being.
One of them– wonderful counselor.
Come alive at Christmas today knowing the one with all wisdom gives you His wisdom.
