Is your Christmas a Hallmark Movie?

I am a sucker for a good Hallmark Christmas movie….

You know how Hallmark Christmas movies are.  You can pretty much always predict the ending.  You can expect who will fall in love.

You can predict how good will come out of tragedy.

The recipe for love usually involves a  Christmas tree farm, a snow globe, a lost pet, and Christmas cookies.

Don’t forget being stranded in the snow.

My family and I joke that if I want to find true love I just need to make sure all of these things happen.

I am so excited for December 1st to come tomorrow.  I am excited for those of you that are joining us in the 25 days to Coming Alive at Christmas  journey, as we connect our  hearts to the hearts of Christ at Christmas and come alive.

Tomorrow starts day 1.  (Ps:  commercial break 25 Days to Coming Alive at Christmas is available at Amazon here   and is free as a download on Kindle today the 30th if you want to download your copy)

In the introduction to 25 Days to Coming Alive at Christmas I talk about how easy it is for the story of Christmas to become normal to us.

And how before realizing it we  get caught in the trap of lumping THE christmas story written in Matthew, Mark, Luke and John  with the Christmas Spirit Happily Ever After movies.

God is not our cosmic snowglobe.
Jesus did not come to earth to live and work on a Christmas tree farm to find His true love.
He did not go looking for His lost dog and find the love of His life.

He came  looking for us.
Looking for you.
Looking for me.

This story is more exciting than a Hallmark Movie.  It is the miracle of a God who created the heavens and earth reaching out to you and to me to offer us the greatest gift… LIFE… and we do not even have to wait to inherit a Christmas tree farm or make sugar cookies  to get it.

Ps:  if you are joining us for this journey would love for you to tweet or instagram or facebook about it using #comingaliveatChristmas.
thanks!
