… when you are looking for your lost donkeys
I wonder if everyday, normal and ordinary is how Saul felt in 1 Samuel Chapter 9..
Saul was an ordinary fellow going about an ordinary day, looking for His lost donkeys. I don’t know if you have donkey? If you do I hope you don’t lose them. I remember one time when looking for some miniature ponies interrupted my life. My sister and I saw some miniature ponies in a pasture and decided to pull over and see them. They were just so stinking cute. We put our blinker on but the person behind us didn’t seem to notice that. Before we knew it, boom, crash– she had hit our car. She didn’t have insurance or a drivers’ licence. Made things a little tricky. When we picked up the Corsica from then “shop” from then on the brake lights stayed on UNLESS you pushed the brakes , and the radio only played morse code. Looking for those ponies left that car never the same. In 1 Samuel 9, Saul went looking for His lost donkeys. Crazily enough, by 1 Samuel 10 He was no longer looking for His lost donkeys, but being annointed as a king. God had a big plan for His life. Even in the midst of His ordinary God wanted to do the EXTRAORDINARY. When the Spirit of God rushed upon Him ( 1 Samuel 10:6) He was turned into a new man. God has a big plan for your life. Even in the midst of your ordinary, God wants to do the extraordinary…… <—— click to tweet Even when you are simply out looking for donkeys (or ponies might I add) |
Do you ever feel your life is everyday? normal? That you are ordinary?

Jenn, your story made me smile. When I saw your title at Coffee for Your Heart, I came right over! Thanks for this encouragement that God wants to do the extraordinary in the middle of our ordinary. I’m open, Lord!
