Jalapeno’s , power and prayer
But now I am distracted.
In between writing this I was working on making a little jalapeno popper snack and went to scrape the seeds out of the jalapeno. I admit I should have been more careful… but I am not always (ever) the most diligent slow to follow through with projects girl. So I casually scraped.
THEN I TOUCHED MY FACE TO SCRATCH MY NOSE.
Whew. Who knew this juice could create such fire.
I mean a chemical peel facial right here at home folks. Cheap and well.. not recommended.
I got to thinking about how much power was in one of those little seeds. Enough to really fire you up.
My post was originally going to be about prayer. And really guys, prayer is just planting seeds of our faith. But wow the power in those seeds.
I have just been really excited about the gift of prayer lately. I want my prayer juices to be praying in such a way that it leaves an impact on every part of my life.
The fun part of prayer is it is not just talking to God, it’s listening for God <<<<—— click to tweet
This week I had some dear friends come to pray over my fall season of Coming Alive Ministries. I am so excited about the doors God has opened for Coming Alive — but I also recognized I need prayer support. I have back to back speaking engagements, am going to nepal and we have our Coming Alive banquet– all until November.
So my sweet friends came to pray. But also to listen to God.
We put each event on a sheet of paper, played worship music and prayed over the events…. It was a holy hour. My friends would write down scriptures they were sensing, prayers they were praying, pictures God was giving them– words ect. It was beautiful.
It was not just the gift of asking, but the joy of listening to God.
Prayer is powerful friends.
It has some major “spiritual juice” like those jalapeno’s.
James 5:16 the prayer of a righteous man avails MUCH!
Gosh, I love you. You’re so funny and wise. And I’m loving that you linked up at #ThreeWordWednesday. xoxo
