Life……
10 The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it[a]overflows).
I really like this picture with the scripture on it also. Because the other day I was using a Keurig. I will be honest, I don’t really love those things. I like the convenience of them. You just pop your cup under there , push on, and then out the coffee comes.
Well unless you are out of water ( which always seems to happen when I want to use one). Or unless you can’t figure out how to turn it on. (I am not always the best at technology (pps: can you call a keurig technology? maybe it’s more of an invention)
The only reason I don’t really love them is because I like my coffee strong.. Like grow hair on your legs strong. (not that you really want extra leg hair).
I blame it on my inability to measure or to follow coffee making instructions. I like to just take the dump and pour route, which means I usually dump and pour a lot.. so my coffee comes out well.. like motor oil. Some have described it as black sludge. And I love it.
Well the other day I was using a keurig and I picked the wrong sized cup . I had only used the kind that had 2 sizes, so i didn’t know this one would pour so much out. And it poured and poured.. and I was not paying attention (because that is how I am let’s be honest), looked back over, and it had poured EVERYWHERE.
It filled to the top of the cup and overflowed.
quick subject change then tie in later to this story (just so you can follow, and wow, I seem to be parenthesis happy today)
I am participating in the Proverbs 31 online bible study A Mended Heart by my friend Suzie Eller. It’s NOT too late for you to join. It’s awesome. Here is Todays’ post for example. In Today’s post they encouraged us to think about what our life verse is.
I was ready to really dig in, pour over the word and try to figure that out. After all, what if it had changed, what if God wanted to give me a new one ect.
And He spoke loudly and clearly to my heart..
Jenn, John 10:10.
I keep feeling like it is selfish to have that as a life verse. I mean the promise of life and life abundantly.
But it is a promise. It is not just any promise. It is a JESUS promise.
He reminded me today that’s how He wants me to live everyday.
In good times, in bad.
In certain times, when I feel confident and in shaky times when I feel afraid.
In laughing times and in crying times.
In times where I feel God so close and in times when I wonder how He could feel so far.
In lean times and in plenty times.
In all these times, the thing that stays the same, the unshakable rock, the invitation I get to accept everyday is found in those words in John 10:10.
I don’t want to spend one more moment letting the thief, the enemy , steal kill and destroy.
I want Jesus.
I want to be like the coffee cup. Over flowing.. pouring out. ALL OVER the PLACE.
To the full until it overflows.
Ps: don’t forget to join the Mended Heart!!
Loved your ending. 🙂 I’m with you and want to be that strong, black, overflowing mug of coffee. And, Suzie’s study? You’re right on. It’s wonderful! Visiting today via (speaking of) #coffeeforyourheart.
Love this word picture! I haven’t been apart of Suzie’s study but as many times as it has come into my radar I’m thinking I should check into it! So blessed that I came by from #coffeeforyourheart!
Amen – I’m all for the fullness of Christ and kicking the enemy to the curb. Great words, today! #coffeeforyourheart
Yep, overflowing all over the place is how I want to be!
