Nothing can separate…
Speaking up– I am piggybacking off my friend Holley Gerth’s writing prompt from her book You are Loved No Matter What. Today’s prompt: Romans 8:38-39.
I love those verse. Well all of Romans 8 actually (well I kind of like the whole Bible if we are getting technical about things of course) (PPS .. just wanted to add that mid blog to, why not)
Romans 8:38-39 though– the promise that NOTHING will separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus.
I got so tickled yesterday. I went with my twin sister to pick up my little man (my nephew) from kindergarten. As soon as He hopped in the car, with His big wide I have pulled all of my front teeth (i mean really he barely has anyteeth left because He loves the toothfairy) He blurted– I ended up on orange today mommy.
He confessed with all His little heart. You see they have a behavior system of color clips that you get moved depending on your behavior that day.
Apparently His clip had been moved that day from pleasant purple to orange because of talking.
And well I grinned because i didn’t get my friday treat or get to go to recess most of elementary school for that very reason– Talking . (PPPS: for all of those that know me I know you are completely shocked by that!).
But my parents always loved me still. No matter how many times my clip got moved.
My nephews mama, still loved Him yesterday.
And reminded Him that tomorrow was another day (and that he should stay on pleasant purple if He pretty please could)
Sometimes we live like their is a behavior clip system in heaven, and that God will stop loving us if we step out of line, or don’t meet qualifications, ect.
I love that nothing will separate us from the Love of God in Christ Jesus . If I am a having a “pleasant purple day” a beautiful blue day, or oops I am on orange ! :)
What a cute and encouraging post. It made me totally smile today. Thank you!
Love this! I’m pretty sure I need to hear this in preparation for Ben being a kindergartner in August. 🙂 He loves people and wants to share so much with them. And you know I am a fan of Holley’s newest book and the message. So glad for how you’ve prompted me to think today. Thanks for linking up at my place. Love you, Jenn! xoxo
Oh I love the analogy of the clip system and how we view God’s love sometimes. You are so right. I’m realizing this more and more about myself. I thought I had broken free from that hold but it has a way of creeping back in.
Hey there! I’m so glad that God is not grading our performance. I didn’t have the clip system as a kid, but I sure loved getting a gold star!
You can start your blog however you want to! 🙂 So glad I dropped by today…such radiance in your personality shining through friend. I think I will make sure I am connected to you via all social media outlets. 🙂
