Walking versus working

Happy Monday Friends

Welcome to Monday Friends.  I don’t know how your weekend was, or how your week has started so far, but I am praying for you.  I am praying for you right now, as you read this sentence that you experience the love of the Lord and His whispers of love.  That He will tell you He is with you, He has gone before you, and behind you, His presence is with you  as you go into your week.  Maybe you started out the Monday rushes, feeling already behind, or wishing you could sleep in. Maybe you started out with great big dreams for the week.  or Maybe if just feels normal.

He is with you.

Ok.. that was not what I had planned, so maybe we all just needed the reminder.

I  am doing a lent study through http://www.shereadstruth.com  that has been a  real joy.  Today one of the sentences struck me  deeply.   The enemy has nothing of worth to offer a soul filled with the truth of God’s word.

Whew.  That is a powerful statement and full of such truth.  When Satan visited Jesus in the desert in Matthew 4, Jesus didn’t eat his deception like Eve did in the garden.  Instead Jesus defeated Him with the truth.  He recognized the enemy had nothing of worth to offer.

The enemy has nothing of worth to offer me or you.
John 10:10 Jesus= life  Satan= Father of lies.

This weekend was filled with such joy for me as I had the honor of speaking to the precious ladies at First United Methodist of Sweetwater.  I just felt so alive speaking to them — and I felt so strongly their hearts to live alive for Christ.
Especially because they braved snow and ice (and us in the south we don’t know what to do in that stuff) to come.
I cried through almost every praise song (and I am not a crier) because I felt the Spirit at work (and they were awesome)

I got up and opened my mouth and felt the Spirit  speak.

I used to think I “worked for God”.  Ministry gets scary and hard sometimes (oftentimes).  It’s scary to be vunerable and teach God’s treasures that He has given you.  I  can easily fall prey to trap that  work = worth.

That lie of the  enemy has nothing of worth to offer me.

The truth is I don’t need to work for Jesus, I get to WALK with Jesus in His work.

So today, why don’t we enter this week walking with Jesus in the work He is already doing.  In our sacred moments and our secular moments, in the mundane and the majestic—-  ( click http://ctt.ec/JWd4n  to tweet)

I am so grateful for the Sacred moments He gave me with those ladies in Sweetwater this weekend.
I am grateful for the normal moments He will give me this week as I wash dishes and laundry, meet a friend for coffee, and  work on my newest writing project.

Walking with Jesus and you into this week

Love Jenn
