Welcome 2015
But there is that fresh start feeling isn’t there. That moment at midnight (if you were able to stay up that late) when the clock strikes, the day turns, and it is a brand new year. I always think of the verse in Isaiah 42:9 Behold the former things have come to past, and new things I now declare, before they spring forth I tell you of them!.
Its just nice to leave some former things and leap into new things.
This October I moved one driveway over into a new apartment owned by the same landlord where I lived before. I had this crazy neighbor named Zelda who lived above me, who would often just randomly come on in for a visit. I started off the first day in 2015 with a surprise visit from Zelda, just like when I lived in my other apartment. Apparently her random appearance is not just a former thing. I laughed so hard when I came out of the bathroom and she was sitting on my couch ( I forgotten to lock my door again) without her teeth in! It made me giggle.
But it brought to mind this random thought. As I enter 2015 I want to let Jesus into every room of my heart. I don’t want to have places in my heart that i have closed off to him, shut the door. I don’t want rooms in my heart to have dust, boxes, be boarded up. I want my heart to be a thriving place– because the author of life — Jesus dwells there. I want More.
Every year I pray for a word to guide the year. This year God clearly showed me the word He had for me in 2015 was more. Not more as in like more money , more stuff ect– but more of Him. More faith. More boldness. More of His presence, Looking for Him to do more then I can ask or imagine Ephesians 3:20 style.
And I want to constantly live more alive, more awake , to life, to Him, to His plans and His places, His people.
Day 1 to our 31 days to coming alive challenge I am going to take from the introduction to 31 days to Coming Alive.
What is one thing you want to do to help you live awake and alive in 2015 to Christ?
Great word… I’m working on a post for tomorrow. Thanks for being so supportive!
