Placing all your weight #day2
In Day 1 of 31 days to Coming Alive I share the story of how I went to sit in a desk in auditorium style seating in my first day of freshman orientation in college. How I was running late and thought I was so cool with my new backpack and my crutches from my serious Nerf hockey injury at summer camp. I went to the top level (which was luckily only three levels) and sat down in my chair. Which had a broken leg. Which made me fall down with my backpack, crutches and tumble– with my chair, onto the next level. And the poor student I did not have a chance to introduce myself to yet.
Then the next level. another student. Another desk. Until we reached the bottom.
Welcome to freshman orientation.
This equaled quite the mess.
Let’s go into 2015 coming alive with the foundation — the base of our lives — not being broken things that cannot hold our weight.
Only Christ was created to bear all of our weight. The weight of our need for love, acceptance, forgiveness, grace, mercy.
In Christ we can come alive.
For God. (pause their… take it in like you have never heard before)
So loved you (insert your name)
That He gave
His
Only
Son that you might have
LIFE!
So let’s accept that invitation, put all our weight on Him and come alive.
