Come Alive by Coming Away #write31days#day2

Day Two

Welcome back to Day Two of 31 Days to Coming Alive. I am so blessed that you would join me here in my cozy corner. I hope that you are enjoying the change of seasons and the fall crisp air (well at least it is crisp in the morning, the rest has not quite caught up yet).  I am currently drinking a cup of toasted marshmallow latte at an adorable coffee shop and I am going to pretend you are here with me, talking about how we can come alive by coming away.

Have you ever found yourself longing for a vacation? I know I sure have.  I was just recently blessed with one.  Three of my friends from grad school and I went on a very last minute trip to the beach.  It has been a rough summer for all of us and the white sand and blue waters were calling our name. We threw aside reason and excuses and just went for it.

And It was glorious.  And soul refreshing. Jesus met us there.  In our pray and in our play.

We prayed together. Laughed together.  Cried together and played together.  Especially in the ocean.  My favorite thing was to yell shark and watch my friend run back to shore!  (that’s all funny until a crab pinches your foot and it’s probably payback and you scream a few octaves higher then you knew you could).

There is something about coming away.  Take a moment and think about a place that makes your soul feels like it can breathe again. Maybe it is the beach, the mountains, a coffe shop, a front porch, your backyard.

We all need to steal moments to come away to come alive.  I don’t think it is feasible to live our life on vacation.  Bosses, husbands, friends—they may not like it if we said sorry I am on vacation—permanently.  But we can and Need to steal away moments with our Savior where we come away into His presence, Invite Him in our presence (He’s already there we just need to remember that sometimes) and Come alive.

“ It is possible to come away with the King everyday. It’s as simple as talking to Him. Eyes open, or closed, it’s doesn’t matter (as long as you aren’t driving of course).

Sitting, standing, kneeling, running, swimming, horseback riding while talking to Him-

You are coming away” (31 days to coming alive)

The God that spoke the stars into the sky wants to speak with you.

John 15 He has called you friend.

Would you take a moment and come away with Him.  It will make you come alive.

(Join us tomorrow for Day 3 Coming Alive in your common)

  1. Well as you know, I “ran away” yesterday…I didn’t leave in the best way possible, but I did NEED to get away and have time with God to hash some things out…next time I need to escape with a little more grace though!
