What brings you Joy — Coffee for your heart

It’s Wednesday– which means it is

click here  to visit my friend Holley Gerth’s blog and have some awesome encouragement for your heart.
She has a new book out that you have to get.
(Ps:  I can’t wait to meet Holley next week as she and Dayspring and Revell were so generous to have some of her fellow dreamers come out to spend a wonderful weekend dreaming together!)

Guys– do you know that Joy is scriptural.  I love it. I love that our God talks about it.  I love that He wants us to live it.  Now granted I want to be super sensitive to those of you are in situations that make joy hard to find right now.  Hang on my precious friend– Hang on. Or for those among us that may be struggling with a season of the darkness of depression.  Hang on my friend. Hang on.  We would love to pray for you.
You guys know I am passionate about joy and ENJOYING life.  That is why I love the phrase and question
I believe God placed in us the special things that make us come alive that can be very unique to you.  My favorite moment at my weekly Thursday night Bible study besides the joy of teaching the word is having those ladies share their come alive moments from the week.
Anything from getting to scoop the middle out of a new tub of butter (that makes one of my members very very full of joy)
to the joys of having an answered prayer that we had been praying for.
These come alive moments:  Christ is in them.
Christ is in our common everyday little come alives
The Christ who invited you to life.
So take a moment.. laugh today.
Light a yummy candle and don’t worry about being wasteful.
Pull out your favorite “good china”.
Throw away something, clean out something, organize something (lol… that totally does not make me come alive but I put that in there for those of you that like that kind of thing)
Go swing on a swing set today
Call that friend and go out for coffee
Wear a fun new piece of jewelry
Walk around the produce aisle at grocery store( don’t know why that brings me joy.. but it does)
Come alive today
I have invited you to life
John 10:10

  1. Ditto what Kristin said…I can't wait for the day when you and I can sit down with only a table separating us, sharing coffee and life. I have a feeling we'd talk and laugh all night! I'm so glad you get to be there next weekend…have a wonderful time! Hugs, friend…thank you for the joy you always radiate. It's beautiful. 🙂
