Are you a mom who sometimes feels unseen?
This post is to the mommas out there:
To the mommas of babies and toddlers and elementary school kiddos who sometimes wish your play groups that you have with other mama’s would look like this (because isn’t this the way it is supposed to look)
but it ends up looking more like this..
Yes this is a real live event in my precious niece Hope’s life.
For those mamma’s among us of any age child/teen/grownup come back that wish your your house looked like this
But the reality is it looks like this
and you feel like mama bear in that picture.
I just felt so impressed by the Lord that some of my mama friends, Stay at home mom friends , working mom’s, mom’s of teenagers, just in general MOM’s friends… maybe you just need to know
You are seen
Maybe no one has told you lately.. but you are noticed for what you do as a mom. You are seen.
I as a single gal without kids who get the joy of just sugaring my niece and nephew up
But I see you. I notice you.
And if I do.. I cannot stress to you enough how the God of the universe.. He sees you to
He sees you cleaning that mess : again and again and again.. and again.
He sees you wiping that nose, changing that diaper, going on a flashlight adventure with your five year old even though you are exhausted.
He sees you cooking.. and cleaning.. and laundry..
oh he sees the laundry!
He sees you with your teenage daughter allowing her to have yet another slumber party with her friends at your house even though you know it means giggles all night, or tears and hurt feelings that you will sooth.
He sees you agonize and pray in faith for your child as you release them out into the world.
He sees you trying to remember where in the world you put that wonderful homework folder that you can never find in the morning.
He sees you washing those dishes. and those dishes.. and those dishes.
He sees you kiss your children at night thinking– whew I am glad they are asleep.
He sees you and your longing for nap time.
He sees you and your wishing your kids were still home to take a nap.
He sees each game you attend, each teaparty you have, each afterschool snack.
He sees you on your good mama days, your I love being a mama days, and your can I please exchange these kids days.
He sees you– and He delights in you.
He notices your work.
He sees how you are doing the most important work of pouring your love, your guidance, your I have no clue what i am doing–wish there was a manual for this mama thing– the God of the universe sees how you are doing the world changing thing of shaping your child into someone who will change their world.
Well done my friend—
Well done.
From me.. and from Jesus.. who is proud of you!
May you hear the Lord speak this over you
Proverbs 31:29 Many woman have done excellently, but you surpass them all. Charm is deceitful and beauty is van, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. Give her of the fruit of her hands and let her works praise her in the gates.
