join for 5 minute friday– and the word SEE

Linking up with Lisa-Jo today for Five minute Friday

The five minute friday.. write for 5 minutes without stopping or editing, just writing on the writing prompt.  This weeks.  See

Right now, from my comfy couch, what I see is 1) my Christmas decorations are still up (true confession I kept them up last year until about April.  Life and chaos happened, and well I like the sparkly christmas tree)

Then I see a sweet smelling candle that I was gifted with when I spoke at a women’s conference last year.  Reminds me of the joy of pursuing my dream, my calling and not to give up.

I see matches because I couldn’t find the lighter and it burns my hand every stinking time i try to light the candle ( let’s be honest I probably should not be playing with fire either)

I see my California starbucks coffee cup sitting beside me which my beautiful mentor and friend Robin Casey (who has blessed my life so much) gave me and i sip from it many mornings and it reminds me of the sweet precious woman I want to be when I grow up (just like Robin)

I see my Bible study books for when I have m date with Jesus when I finish this post.

And right across from me I see the thing my crafty roomie Emily made.  it’s beautiful.  It’s just a small canvas against a grey backdrop in bright turquoise the word GRACE.

I see GRACE.

And I think .. let’s do that. Let’s see grace.  Let’s see the grace of God poured out upon us in the moments of life– in the mundane and the majesty.. that we are all sinners loved by an amazing God..

Grace.

Then because I am wrapped covered and smothered (wafflehouse anyone) in grace– then I can pour out grace on others.

Grace

Ps:  breaking the five minute rule.. this is what I see now.. the green smoothie I dropped on carpet.. lol.. hope my roomie has grace 🙂

  1. Love this perspective! My Christmas tree is still up and dropping needles like crazy. The ornaments and lights are of it in order to inspire me to get it out!
God has been teaching me about grace this past year and I realize I have so much more to learn. I love that you have it right in front of you- lovely!

  2. Love this! (And I confess I keep my tree up until the time change in March. . . . I love it too!)
