Coming alive at Christmas in the IMPOSSIBLE

Happy First day of Decemeber friends..

I don’t know about you but ADVENT season reminds me of when I was a kid at Ooltewah Baptist Church and they lit the little candle wreath every Sunday in December.  Each candle meant something. I thought it was the coolest thing.  Of course all I know is now if they were doing it.. they would hopefully not be electing me to be the candle lighter.  I have a great  track record when it comes to candles.

So last night I was so so blessed.  My parents and I went to see a concert by a violinist Jaime Jorge.  I must admit– this was a bit out of character for my parents and I. We are not generally so.. well.. cultured.

I cannot even tell you how blessed I was.  God did something beautiful and surprising in my heart touching me deeply through each note played.  It was as if each note was God serenading me.  And it was beautiful.

You should check out his website  here

And something else.  Jaime made this statement and it ministered to me– it reminded me why we come alive at christmas.. He said:

God does NOT understand the meaning of impossible.
Wow.
The Christmas story is packed full of that truth.
Virgin– with child
Joseph– marries Mary anyways
Shephards hear angelic choir (that doesn’t happy often right folks)
A star appeared to guide some wisemen
And most impossible
God..
of
the
universe
who
spoke
universe
into
being
CAME
God came.
The God of the universe came into the earth in form of tiny baby boy so He could take the magnitude and weight of sin unto his little tiny shoulders.
He left hallows of heaven to walk the dusty streets of earth.
as a tiny baby who even had to learn to wlak.
Your right .  God does not know the meaning of impossible.
So what is your impossible right now?  Take a moment to take that thing to the arms of the one who made the impossible possible by ushering the kingdom of heaven into earth.
Come alive at Christmas knowing that God can do the IMPOSSIBLE.
PS:  would you pray for my impossible right now? And would you check it out?
I am working to raise funds to get the book 31 days to coming alive published.  Now the campaign is down to 30 days to raise 15,000 dollars.. whew.. even typing that makes me break out in sweats. But God told me to take this leap of faith.
you can click HERE if God directs you to want more information. would so so love your prayers.
now what impossible can i pray for you?

  1. Jenn, you are beside me at the soli deo gratia sisters and can I tell you, I love your blog, your passion, your vision? I love the coaching/counseling idea. How did it go? I'm a spiritual director in Pittsburgh and trying to figure out how to do this beautiful work with those flung far and wide.

I LOVE fully alive, fully awake, fully engaged people. Such joy to find you today!

  2. Jenn – Oh yes, such an awesome thought…the God of the Universe, humbling himself, and coming to earth…for US! Thanks for your friendly face on UNITE this week! ~ Jen

  3. I grew up in a church that never talked about Advent, so I didn't even know what it was until I was an adult. But now I love it! It's a special season to me.

"God does NOT understand the meaning of impossible." I love that too.
