Day 3: Living out of Love or Looking for love?
Whew I am already realizing in my procrastinating self it’s going to be hard to keep up. But I am determined to stick with it. So here I am .. writing day 3.
I am excited about Day 3 to Coming Alive.
The Title? What if we live out of love versus looking for love.
I mean lets be honest. From the moment we take our first breath of air into this world, we come looking for love. I took all those counselory class for my masters degree in counseling (ha.. it probably doesn’t sound to masterly like to say the word counselory huh) and in the midst of all the psychological stuff.. it’s evident that we come into the world looking for love.
It’s fascinating really even when babies cry for their needs to be met they are saying in a sense will you love me enough to take care of me?
When a child falls and scrapes their knee they want a band aid (preferably with a fun character on it ) and your love to make it better. The kiss it and make it better scenario.
When you were in elementary school or middle school and passed that do you like me check yes or no note.. looking for love (well at least like).
Along with love comes the longing for approval. Will you love me for me? Will you love me when I mess up? Will you love me when I perform well? Will you love me in the good, the bad and the ugly.
I believe we were born looking for love because we were made IN THE IMAGE of our creator God. Whew.. Crazy. It’s like He took a mirror of himself, reflected the sun on it, and created us. Now sin (stinky ol’ Eve and her apple..should have been something better like chocolate) entered and that reflection is marred. But that part of our creator we were made in image of .. still there.
See.. 1 John tells us God is love. That’s who He is he. He can’t be anything else. His makeup=love. That’s why He sent His son to die for us. So that we could come alive out of our sin into new life.
Love.
Whew.
All consuming.. all powerful.. all fulfilling love.
We can go to God anytime, all the time and say Do you love me, check yes or no?
Not only does He check yes with His nail pierced bleeding Hands, He then promises that NOTHING will ever separate me from the Love of God wrapped up in Christ Jesus. (check out Romans 8)
That’s how you and I can come alive.
We don’t have to live looking for love we can live out of already being loved.
By God.
Who.. Is.. Love
See I was running the other day.. dripping sweat.. disgusting.. feeling very energetic Dying.. and I felt the Lord whisper that to me again that day.
Jenn Live out of knowing you are loved by me.
When we do that.. we don’t have to go to everyone we encounter and say do you love me? Because when they are having a bad day, or we are having a bad day and aren’t very loveable.. it doesn’t matter. It doesn’t matter if someone approves, says your the best, declares you theirs–
You are loved.
Checked YES!
Beautiful! Love where He checked yes with his Nail pierced hands!
