How I mooned a whole plane and more ….

I just recently was blessed to go to an awesome conference called Speak Up with Carol Kent..
I took an awesome class from Cindy Bultema who blogs over at She sparkles on blogging.

Cindy truly does Sparkle!!
And she just published a Bible study called Red Hot Faith.
Check it out on her blog.
I got to hear her teach on it.
Stunning.
Phenomenal
Made me want to have redder, hotter FAITH!

She said to make sure your blog headlines are catchy.
I figured this one might get you.

And I am linking up today with Cindy. She asked us to write our highlights from Speak up Conference.  Tomorrow will continue with my regularly scheduled You’re Made for a God-sized Dream post.   The chapter title we are on is How to stop sabotaging yourself.  Making sure you don’t moon a plane is probably one way.

See I was on one of those tiny planes that is more like an aluminum tuna can in my opinion.  We went through a crazy storm and I had to go to the bathroom. So when they finally turned the seatbelt sign off I had to rush to the restroom.. from the front of the plane to the back of the plane.

I wondered why everyone was staring.

It was because my skirt was tucked up.. and I mooned the whole plane as I joyously unaware walked to the bathroom.

Here I am going to pitch a book proposal to a bunch of publishers, and I started my journey mooning the plane.

Jesus and I had a great laugh together about this!

now back to the highlight of conference for me:

well one was a class taught by this precious lady Jenn who blogs at www.findingheaventoday.com an awesome community.

She taught a class on authenticity and trust in women’s ministry.  It truly was the thing at the conference that most reminded me what I am called to do.  I am called to provide an invitation for others to Come alive in Christ in such a way that encourage and inspires woman to be authentic and drop their baggage (because we all have it) at the feet of Jesus in community.

I love this quote from her class:  We need to tap into freedom of being who we are, wherever we are, no matter who we are with.”   It is not our job to fix anyones problems, but to reflect a Savior who can!  When we speak when God wants us to speak, it is powerful.  We are here for a reason and brokenness is part of that reason.”

Another highlight:  Meeting my newest missionary friend, who God laid so heavily on my heart to partner with in prayer. Would you pray for her also.  Her name is Sheryl Gasser and her and her husband are on the way to serve the Lord overseas.

and this precious friend from knoxville who has an awesome devotional book out for expectant mothers that you need to check out at www.juliesanders.org

so as you can see what I learned… well was reminded of… there are so many beautiful woman out there pursuing our God sized dreams. .. and we are all on the same team.
Not in competition.
Each unique
Each doing our God sized thing towards our God sized dream in God’s designed way.

What a beautiful team God has left here on earth.. for His glory.
He wants US…
He wants YOU
To sparkle
To be authentic
To radiate
To
Be
You
(even if you are mooning a plane!)

Now.. stay tuned. Would you come back tomorrow for information about an exciting giveaway for our upcoming BLOOM conference? (wahoo!)
