… a gift to bring .. day 7 Coming Alive at Christmas

So this weekend was jam packed with fun.. and during part of it I got the blessing of going to see the Living Christmas tree– which is an awesome Christmas production in Knoxville.

my favorite thing about it was watching it through my 4 year old nephews eyes– He was in my lap and His eyes were HUGE the whole time. It was cool watching Him watch it!

The heaven scene at the end– when Jesus comes riding in on a white horse is amazing.. simply amazing.. especially since it is shown after the terrible darkness of the Crucifixion.

See one of the best ways to Come Alive at Christmas is to stop.. pause in the midst of the crazy Christmas busyness– and remember that the KING of KINGS came down to earth as a baby with a plan of redemption in mind.  The minute He first cried, He knew He would want one day utter the loud cry on the cross Father Forgive them they know not what they do!
Whew!

You and I were on His mind.

But the story doesn’t end at the innocence of a little baby.  It doesn’t even end as the innocent one– the Sinless one JESUS takes our sins upon himself on the cross.. the story ends that someday He is coming BACK to rule and reign (GLORY shouting here!)

I love the Heaven scene that portrays this

Beautiful. And yes those are real people hanging from the ceiling! haahh.. i cannot imagine that I would look that angelic doing that! 🙂

Well my friend that was with me at the living Christmas tree had a 7 year old girl with her who was in awe of the whole thing.

She told her she really wanted to meet one of those angels even though she knew they weren’t necessarily real.  Just so happened my friend had two nieces who were angels in the play so she asked them to come chat with the little girl.

What happened next was so sweet to me. She said she wanted to give the angels something. so this little 7 year old girl gave them the shells her mom had brought back from Haiti in July .  She had carried them around since July because they were so special to her– and she gave them to the angels– because she thought those angels were special to God.

What a gift to bring. I loved it.

And it made me remember this Christmas.

I have gifts the Lord has given me.
You have gifts the Lord has give you.

Are you willing to unfurl your hands and hand them our King of Kings?
