COURAGE to Start

Linking with the gals at solo de gloria at www.findingheaventoday.blogspot.com.. check out this precious blog community!

I’m back to my precious blogging community. Sorry I have taken some time off. Been busy reflecting on 2011 (which I do not want to repeat but am grateful to the Lord for the gifts He gave me in the midst of difficult trials) and dreaming big about what I want 2012 to hold.  I found the above picture on my fav blog www.findingheaventoday.blogspot.com and it inspired me that it was time to post again.

Courage
whew that is a short little word with a big punch

Monday was Martin Luther King day.  His famous words:  I have a dream.
Dreams take courage.
The courage is not just in the finishing it’s in the starting as well.

I remember when my sis got the crazy idea for us very non athletic gals to train with a team (leukemia lymphoma society Team in Training.. awesome awesome experience!) to run a marathon.  We ended up the training run right before the marathon falling apart.. literally.. Hahah.. I was running and tore my tendon and thought i would never be able to move again.. michelle my sis kept saying her spleen was going to rupture. I thought she was crazy– i mean who even knows they have a spleen– but turns out she had mono and it was. So we didn’t finish. But we started.. that was COURAGEOUS.. then the next year trained again and ran our first 1/2 marathon.. glory.. That first team meeting my hands shook and my heart was beating out of my chest.. but we started..

I could make a list of things God has allowed me to do that I had to cling to Being strong and courageous.  Many people think because I travel the world like it’s normal to go to nepal next week  and turkey the next that I am fearless.  If only you really knew.. i am the girl who is terrified of the teacups going fast at Disneyworld.. for which my family insists on teasing me about.  But I have learned to grab the hands of my fearless Savior.. who left heaven for earth.. and go where He leads.  Wherever that may take me .. whatever crazy situations that may get me into.. from grad school, to teaching womens conferences in remote villages– burning down their outhouses, to flying all around the world by myself, to killing the largest cockroaches in the world in bangladesh, to letting go and letting God, to allowing myself to trust people after times of hurt, to dreaming.. what an adventure going with God is.  Everyday, not just the I am on the other side of the world serving God days, everyday.

So this year I am asking God for courage– and asking you for prayer.. as I start my dream officially..

Coming Alive Ministries
I am not sure what it will exactly look like.  I am not sure how God will pay the bills– how He will take this girl with the gift of gab and no gift of administration and call her to lead a ministry.. but
COURAGE says DO it anyways– Don’t just dream.. talk to the dreammaker and take His Hand and GO!
I am asking you for prayers.  I am currently in the steps of forming the board. The dream of the ministry is to provide a three fold ministry 1) affordable christian counseling to help point others to come alive in Christ 2) retreats and written resources to provide the invitation to come alive in Christ 3) taking those counseling resources and retreats overseas to the national Christians and missionaries that are desperate for them!
Glory

What are you starting? Not a new years resolution , but what are you doing that will take a courageous REVOLUTION?
Please share with me so I know how to pray for you

  1. I am sooooo excited for you, Jen! God is so good and so faithful. I praise HIm for what He is doing in you and for what He still wants to accomplish through you. Please let me know how I can help. I would love to be a part of your journey.

  2. This sounds challenging. I would love to hear more of what you have in mind. Could be that I could offer up a few ideas. I have never done anything like this before, but it sounds very intriguing. I will definitely be praying for you.

  3. I get told so often that I'm a courageous person-even though alot of times I don't believe it. When we have enough courage, the Lord can use us in mighty ways that we never even thought were possible. Each and every time that we step out and take a leap of faith, we grow stronger and it gets easier to do more and more for the Lord. Jenn, you do have great courage and the Lord will richly bless you for stepping out and following His will for your life. I pray for you each and every morning on my way to work and I will definately keep this ministry in my prayers also.

    Love you much,
Your #1 fan and sister in Christ
