So Blessed in NEPAL!

Just wanted to write a quick post.  i cannot really even find the words or emotions to express how blessed i have been in these past few days.  quick recap in case you did not know.. 3 1/2 weeks ago God opened the door for me to return to nepal where I lived for 2 years and minister to those ministering in the area of human trafficking here in nepal.  wow. I have been blown away.  1st of all..even though I know America is where I am defionatly supposed to be (don’t worry mom, dad, sis and others) there is always a part of my heart that will feel at home in nepal.  It makes my heart feel a little extra full to smell the crazy smells (mixture of smoke, disel fuel, garbage, cows, curry and well other unmentionable things), to hear the crazy noises (cows, people, loud music, lots and lots of horns, laughter, nepalese speaking dramatically and loud– that’s why i totally fit in here) , to taste the tastes again (lots of rice, lentils and veggies with curry.. ).  It makes my heart come alive.. why.. because it is still hard for me to imagine that God took a crazy little gal from TN and called me at one point in my life to leave everything I knew and loved.. ever piece of my comfort and asked me to come live in an unknown strange land called nepal.  And those 2 years were amazing because God stretched everything of me and placed a lot more of Him in me then I would have known had I not experienced it.  I saw the light of God in a whole new way in the midst of overwhelming spiritual darkness.. I saw the joy of the Lord in the midst of poverty unbelievable.. I saw the power of God when I was weak.. the healing of God when I was sick, the comfort of God when I was lonely.  and of course i could see all those things in america.. but I love that God chose to teach me those things in such an incredible exotic indescribable place called nepal.  And I made wonderful friends here… so to be back here.. has been AMAZING.
I got here on Sunday.. took a 7 hour CRAZY bus ride on monday. (mom close your eyes) that involved sometimes feeling the bus would literally tip over, brakes that sound like they would never work, curvy mtn roads and passing on the roads you would never do at home (watch the worlds most dangerous roads.. you will see it).  Got here to the mountains and along with the retreat team prepared for the folks to come.

God brought about 25 people to this place that spend their lives and ministries working on the issue of human trafficking in nepal. Did you know every 3 minutes a precious nepalese lady is sold into sex labor.  Wow.  These workers are combating that.  So there are majority of nepalese people here, a norweigan and a swedish friend, and several americans.. all here to learn about sabbath rest.  What an honor.
I really know God showed up.  He did. I love how He comes to minister to those ministering.  Please keep praying that God will use the words I have to bring from His word to sustain their battle weary hearts– even if they did not know they were battle weary.
I have been blessed. I cannot wait to share on here some of the stories I have heard.. stories of people literally risking their lives to rescue to just one woman. As i listen.. I am again grateful that jesus literally risked His life to rescue just even one.. ! wow.  Anyways– I will be doing this retreat unti Friday.. pray God continues to move through the sessions, through the fellowship, through the worship and through me as I am providing counseling to whoever wants.

Also praise GOD:  As soon as I stepped back in nepal the nepalese language came fluently back to me.. glory glory glory! mahima mahima mahima!

  1. I'm glad to hear how God is blessing you and those people over there. I just want to say thank you for serving over there those 2 years. It takes a huge amount of faith and a close walk with God to step out and follow Him to be a missionary. I also greatly appreciate all you are now doing in America 🙂 Your vivid description of Nepal makes me want to go there! This is such an inspiring story to hear. Keep us updated here on this blog. 3. Jenn,Sorry for sort of hijacking this thread, but I just felt like sharing this with you… Hope all is well.A righteous man may have troubles, but the Lord delivers him from them all-Psalm 34:19(whatever you're going through, the Lord is in COMPLETE control)Then they cry unto the Lord in their trouble, and he saveth them out of their distresses. He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.-Psalm 107:19-20I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord.-Psalm 118:17But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.-Isaiah 53:5(God's word promises healing)And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.-1 John 3:22
