I love it when God says Go..
God has opened a door for me and said Go
And I was crazy enough to say YES!
And I can’t wait to share it with you– my precious bloggy family
In case you did not know .. I was blessed to spend the years 2007-2009 living as a missionary in Kathmandu Nepal. I am often asked, how is Nepal. Well just take America, think the complete opposite, and thats nepal! Before leaving everything behind to be a career missionary ( I had planned to live and die in nepal) I thought missionaries were SUPER heros that must be perfect, spiritual ALL the time, and have a special extra line to God. They were the SPECIAL ONES.. the called out ones.. therefore they might as well have a cape that says SUPERWOMAN FOR JESUS (or SUPERMAN). Well imagine my dismay when I got to nepal and realized wait.. we are.. I am.. not called to be superwoman for Jesus, can NEVER be spiritual and perfect all the time and we sin. I realized God didnt need me, but He wanted me (that’s a story for another time, another place). Anyways– God called me to leave nepal after 2 years to persue ministering in not just one place, but in many. I felt an intense burden for missionaries- imagine leaving everyone you know and love behind, all your comforts, trying to learn a new language, life ect– all while serving on the front lines of spiritual battle. It’s an incredible joy.. but whew. it can get tiring. So I have a HUGE passion to go and minister to missionaries and provide counsel and refreshment from God’s word. Retreats are so readily available here– every weekend if you wanted. .. on the mission field recieving spiritual nurishment while providing spiritual nurishment is NECESSARY yet often lacking.
I am always looking to GO when God says.
Last week I got a call where God says Go
My teammate called from Nepal and asked me to consider coming
Oct 28-November 8th and
Being the keynote speaker/counselor for a retreat
called Sabbath Rest
Provided for missionaries and NGO’s that work with
Human trafficking
God said Go and I said YES! glory! I know what it’s like to serve God in the very spiritually dark country of Nepal and if I can go encourage and refresh those special servants of God . Now there is the tiny detail of 2,000 dollars needed within the next 2 weeks to get the plane ticket.
I was crazy enough to say YES..
now can I ask you to pray about saying YES to being apart. Would you NUMBER ONE please pray for me and for this retreat.. that God would provide the missionaries Sabbath Rest
and would you pray about helping me with this financial need.
if everyone gave a little
God multiplies BIG

As for my 1,000 gifts thank-you list for Monday.. I just have to say my big one is that God laid this oppertunity in my lap to go back to a place I love and minister to a people I love
using the gifts I love- speaking and teaching God’s word
and counseling
When has God said Go to you and you said YES and were blessed? share with me 🙂
I don't think I know you Jen, yet I know you are a kindred spirit! How awesome it is to have the opportunity you have been given. I was brought to tears, b/c I am studying now to be a nurse. I want to be a part of the relief effort in human trafficking as well someday very soon! How awesome! I would love to stay connected with you and hear all about your journey! Thank you so much for linking on Evatt's Beautiful Mess! I know that the Lord will provide the money for this trip and the wisdom from above as well! Please stay in touch!
Jenn, what a wonderful opportunity! May God provide all your needs connected with this journey and your ministry there. The Lord be with you and watch over you, sister.
I am so excited for you! The Lord go with you, my friend. May He shine His face upon you, and bless you and keep you. Your linky is not working over at my place for some reason so I'm going to poke around and see if I can fix it. Much love to you.
One of my dear friends does retreats/refreshing for missionaries, too, through YWAM. It is a job that is so needed. I think this is such an amazing opportunity for you and I cannot wait to see what God does through you!
Very cool! God bless you.
What a wonderful opportunity. I might be going next year and will ask you for pointers 🙂 I pray your retreat goes well.
So glad you say yes to God. GO and be a blessing.
