Walk with me Wednesday– HOPE

Waiting, faith, hope– all expectant filled words

words filled with the idea of joy, excitement, expectation
but also words that can bring fear, what if, how can, what will’s
What if I wait and don’t recieve that which I am hoping for?
How do I wait?
Every day when I was little I waited on my daddy to get home from work. I would have had a wonderful day of playing with my twin sister, tea parties with my awesome mom.. i was so blessed. But I would wait also for that moment when my Daddy would come home– and when He did I would step on His feet and we would dance. Always to the same tune.. we would dance..
And we still do .. now I am 29 but we still do it when I come home. And I love it. There is something about stepping on the feet of my Daddy and dancing.
Waiting– hoping.. how do we live alive in the midst of waiting, wishing and wondering? Well I believe Jesus knew it would be a mixture of fun, hard, exciting, agonizing to wait– He knew it would be difficult for us.
Psalms 37:7 tells us how we can LIVE alive in the midst of waiting, wishing and wondering–
Be still before the Lord
Wait for patiently for Him
That word wait in the Hebrew means
DANCE!
So How will I wait?
Stepping on the feet of my heavenly father.. letting Him twirl me around
and I will DANCE

  1. I had no idea that the Hebrew word for wait is "dance." I love that new found connection and metaphor. It's so hard to wait on God sometimes but maybe not so hard to dance at His feet. Love your post!
