Wowsers. What a busy week. But Blessed. I have had a blast with the team that came to minister here from Liberty University. They have been awesome students. But wowsers we have been busy. Let me give you a little recap of the past week and 1/2
Tuesday: Picked up the students at the airport that morning. They were of course very tired and jetlagged from the long journey. 16 students plus one leader. Then we proceeded to do everything we could to keep them awake. I wish you could have seen it. I felt like a mama duck. 17 people is alot of people to have following you. I would cross the street and all 17 would cross with me.. mama duck Jenn. Could thing I did not get any of my ducklings feet run over like I ran over that poor duck. Walked to their guesthouses and into town a couple of times–defionatly got exerise. Took them to lunch, then back to visit our ministries, introduce them to a dinner of nepalee food, play volleyball with bible college students and try to keep them awake
Wed: Take all 17 of them touring around. Went to the tourist part of town for some shopping first, crazy taking that many students around i’ll tell you. Then they went on to tour two other places while I returned home on the purple pleasure to teach my ladies bible study.. then met back up with them for a dinner meeting
Thur: one group of 7 left to go trekking. Brought the other group to the church to begin work digging a wall. I got to dig with them … it was fun to use that pick ax thing ( or whatever it is) . Then we had them do a home stay with a Hindu family so we ran around getting them to their home stays. Oh yeah that morning took them prayer walkikng
Friday: retrieved them from their home stays.. then did work at the church again.. then they stayed in Christian homes for homestays so ran around getting them here and there
Saturday: Church then we did a carnival program for the orphans. It was a blast
Sunday: Went on a long hike, prayer walk up to a monostary. Had an incredible time of prayer in that monastary on the top of the hill as they call it (we would call it a mountain). Then hiked back down and went to our foreigner fellowship (and tried to take a bucket bath even though we are out of water)
Monday: More work at the church ect
Tuesday: My boss comes in from bangladesh.. always a pleasure to see him. So went to a team meeting/breakfast with Him.. then came back and met up with team, more work at the church.. Then all them came over and we cooked dinner then had a slumber party for the girls
Wednesday: Made pancakes, played dressup in my sari and we all went to a wedding. Then went to the wedding feast. This was an all day affair. Then came back and one of the girls taught my womens bible study. Translator did nto come so me and a nepalee girl on the team translated. Then went to dinner with Boss and team that night to a nepalee cultural show. You sit on the floor. As I was sitting on the fllor I saw my other team mate daniels eyes get HUGE. I was not sure what happend. Later I found out a HUGe rat had just ran under my legs. I saw the HUGE rat later.. hm.. .. makes for an exciting evening
Now today is thursday. The other group gets back from treking. The students will be here until next Tuesday. It has been a blast. Seeing nepal through new eyes again. But please pray for strength as we continue to serve and lead them
I love you guys
.
Hi Jennifer! It sounds like you have been very busy. You looked so beautiful in your sari. I am doing very good they say. I got my staples out yesterday which wasn’t fun but it feels better having them out. Michelle and Daddy have been taking good care of me but you know the best thing for me has been a cute little boys smile and getting to cuddle up with him. Right now he is getting into everything and wearing his Mommy out. I love you and am counting the days till I get to see you. Well I better go can’t sit here at the computer too long.
Hey Sweet Niece, I also wanted to tell you how beautiful you were in your sari. The color looked so pretty on you! I talked to your mama today. I’m so glad she’s doing so well. I’m also doing great. Got my cast off and am in the air cast. Yesterday it was very painful to walk, but today it’s not as bad. I had to get in the shower and scrub and scrub to get all the dead yucky skin off my leg and foot and shave the two inch hairs off! LOL! Can’t wait to see you! Love, Aunt Brenda
Wow, I got tired just reading that. You look amazing! Thanks for posting! Sorry about that rat, my mom would just go nuts! I’m getting to pr000 for you. Love you!
