Happy Birthday TJ
Happy Happy birthday to one of my favorite people in the Whole WORLD.. TJ ELLIS ( and I am a world traveler you know.. so I can say that really!) Well TJ I know your birthday is really tommorow.. but we don’t have power much tommorow so I wanted to make sure that you got this post. I love you soo much. I am so blessed that God brought you into my life. We have had soo many memories together. So many laughs together (lots of hard hard laughs.. the kind where we both probablly peed in our pants). I am so glad that I was your tutor in Mrs. Sellers biology class when you were in 9th and I was in 10th grade. i’m suprised they let me tutor you after that in math.. clearly we had much more fun together then we got work done. God knew we were a friendship made in heaven, a friendship for life.. one that survived many years and a across the world friendship– and yet I feel closer to you then ever. I loved all the birthday parties over the years, the rollarskating as you pulled me at the skating rink or at river park, The concerts we’ve been to together.. Billy graham crusade in nashville (God has given me a window?), late night phone chats, liking the same boys together, special friends camp.. getting to watch you go on the chyrslis retreat, getting you stuck in a dressing room, going to the movies, all the wonderful conversations we’ve had over pizza while I was hanging out in your room, the way you have encouraged me so much while I am here– your packages and notes.. your family and how they are like family– how you were one of the first people I wanted to see in america– meeting up at the beach that one time (hehehe.. we wont talk about that one drink )– drinking sparkling grape juice with you– all the fun memories in your basement– watching girly movies together– figuring out life and God togehter– your beautiful song at my commissioning service that had me and everyone else in the room sobbing– your faith and your trust in God and all that teaches me– your my own personal prayer warrior– your always there anytime I even think of needing you– we have walked through some hard seasons together but God has been soo good and you have taught me so much about our Jesus! (as you would say tj.. the cheese is really dripping from this post now huh) TJ I am so glad that you were born. I am so glad (that’s not really a strong enough word to describe it) that God loved me enough to chose to give you to me as a FOREVER friend.. sometimes I truly dont’ think I deserve that. But I also don’t deserve God’s grace, but He gave that to me also. I am so blessed by you and your family and I LOVE YOU! can’t wait to make some more crazy memories and get into more trouble with you..
Jenn
Jenn,
I have to give a hearty AMEN to everything you said about TJ being a wonderful friend and a faithful prayer warrior, not to mention being more fun than a barrel of monkeys. (Would a barrel of monkeys really be fun? Hmmm.) I think you are incredibly thoughtful to honor your friend with such an amazing birthday greeting. I too am very thankful for TJ’s life and her inspiring walk with God. I can’t wait to RUN and DANCE the streets of gold with her when we all get to heaven!
It’s amazing how God ordains friendships in our lives because He knows we’ll need that friend’s love and support sometime in the future. I’m sure God smiled as He put the two of you together. He knew you were going to have loads of fun and be forever friends following Him.
Lots of love,
Sandra
