wak wak and more
sorry for the delayed posting.. such a shortage of power these days– about 20 hours a day now.. and well.. not seeming to be home in the time when there is power. It’s one in the morning right now, I stayed up just so I could type a little update for you guys, my faithful readers ( and hey to my wonderful aunts who are in the snow.. i am sorry that you guys had to experience no power and water.. i can sympathize with you really i can.. right now we have a huge water shortage to)
So this week has been a crazy one. Good though. Let’s see.. last saturday night we went to start our team retreat at the hyatt with leah, shyam and paula. We had a great evening there. I’m talking five star hotel for really nice price since we live here. And Did i mention they have unlimited power.. makes you want to sleep with the lights on just cause you can. And whew if you saw the bathtub which hot water instantly came out of (and we are out of water at our house)… I ended up taking such a hot bath that my body was not used to it and i almost passed out on the bathroom floor… heheh) Then Sunday our new team mates Daniel and Chrissy arrived. So we went to the airport to pick them up, then our boss from bangladesh Jim. Then we trucked it back to the hyatt to have a series of intensive planning meetings. I generally am the type of girl that wishes you could call it a party instead of a meeting. i’m just not a meeting girl.. but well.. call it a party and i’m there. Or have it at the hyatt in kathmandu where there is water and power and i’m there! They were great meetings. I am so excited to have Daniel and Chrissy here, so please pray for them in their adjusting time!
I think maybe my stomache said wow, five star hotel food– to clean for me. So I ended up getting sick on sunday and wak waking (throwing up!) the rest of sunday and monday. So I stayed home sunday, monday , tuesday and wednesday. But the amazing thing was .. by wednesday afternoon in time to teach Bible study I started feeling better! I was able to teach bible study and actually felt very STRONG. I love how in our weakness God is so true to His promise to BE STRONG.
EXCITING NEWS ALERT: so The lady that i mentioned in a previous post that is Hindu and has been coming quite regurarlly to my Bible study asked for prayer for her faith, and then told her cousin/sister (don’t ask, we have not figured out this relation thing really either) who is our household helper and my best friend here that she wants to meet with pastor shyam to pray with him for salvation. MAHIMA MAHIMA MAHIMA!!
I taught Bible study on Romans 4:20, which is my memory verse for right now. Yet with respect the promises of God He did not waver in unbelief but grew strong in His faith giving Glory to God. I talked about how often we trust God for our salvation, but we don’t trust him for the other promises He has given us: like that He is our provider, that he will never leave us, that He is our joy giver ect. So today– how’s yoru faith, wavering or unwavering? It was so cool because at the end of the bible study i knew the ladies had really gotten it when most of their prayer request they said: mero lagie tullo bishwas (pray for me to have BIG faith!)
So let’s pray for eachother to have that TULLO (BIG ) faith! Believe our God to be WHO HE SAYS HE IS!
ok.. well i have lots more i could say.. but well it’s one in the morning and i’m sleepy– i just wanted to post and check in with you guys
i love you all so muhc
soon I am going to post some pictures 1) of my new glasses which I LOVE which were such a gift from the lord 2) my cute valentines heart pj’s my mommy and daddy sent me for my birthday (you guys make me feel so loved and special.. when i was throwing up i wore them and it made me feel ike you were here) and 3) I went shopping today and bought the cutest korta (nepalee outfit) so i will show you a picture.. stay tuned! Hey Sweetums, I was glad to read your post. I miss you and it makes me feel closer to you when you post. I love to hear what’s going on with you! I’m sorry you’ve been sick again. So how many times have you “yacked” in Nepal now (and I don’t even want to know how many times had problems from the other end.LOL)! Bless your heart, that’s just toooo much throwing up in my book. I’ve seen times when I thought I’d rather just go on and die than throw up! Hey, don’t feel sorry for us not having power and water. I don’t think it compares at all to how much you have to do without it. We survived! Guess what, my house is finally coming together. We got the carpet in, and now I’m trying to put everything back where it goes and clean everything! I’m purging my house of a lot of stuff too. Good time for it! I’m sentimental about my “stuff” but I find that if I just suck it up and go on and do it, that it’s okay; and it makes my house less junky! Well, I was just taking a break, so I’d better get back to it. I love you! Hugs and Kisses, Aunt Brenda
How Awesome what the Lord is doing through you! How humbling! So sorry you were sick again!
