coffee exfoliation

SO I promised you more details about the coffee exfoliation.. i know you have been on the edge of your seats in anticipation. Sorry to keep you waiting. Last night I was telling the story to my dad on skype and I could not stop laughing.
So while enjoying the wonderful blessings of power, hot water , the great hotel and fellowship with our friends.. I with my weakness for massages and spas and all such things like that that are reall only affordable in Asia saw a menu for the spa and my eyes lit up when I saw that they had a coffee exfoliating rub! that’s it.. that’s the one for me. Maybe my critical thinking skills were simply dulled by the fact that the hotel did not have the best coffee in the world and I was missing my good old coffee or something– but I found myself paying my money and going into a room where the lady told me to get on top of the saran wrap (in nepalee of course) Note to self: When someone tells you to lay on saran wrap– maybe you should change your mind about the whole thing. But I got sucked in. The soft music was playing, there was the slight smell of coffee beans in the air, and I was in . Did I mention how much I love coffee. Before I knew it the lady had mixed up a concoction of coffee grinds/beans and hot water and was lathering me up.. scrubbing me up more like it. Who knew that you could scrub that hard, and that much skin come off without catching on fire! It’s supposed to make your skin soft.. and it did– but hello no one touches my skin. so anyways.. she’s scrubbed and scrubbed off all the skin on my back and legs and well other places and tells me in nepalee she’ll be back in 15 minutes.. to just sit there. As if me and my covered in coffee grounds and hot water could go anywhere else. SO i’m sitting there covered in saran wrap and coffee in what has now become a cold room and I could not stop laughing. I just paid money to BREW MYSELF. I laughed and laughed and laughed until I think all the caffeine from the coffee beans must have soaked into my blood vessels.

The lady came over, told me to turn over, and second verse same as the first. Then she left for 15 minutes again to leave me perculating! And I was believe me.. again sitting in this dimly lit room laughing my head off. The classical music was lost on me.
Then she brings me a towel and tells me to go sit in the sauna steam room and let it soak in good. I decided that was enough sitting in my own brew and asked politely to take a shower instead. As I washed in the shower coffee beans from places I had no idea you can get coffee beans I realized my love of coffee had truly gone to a new height.
The good news is: I googled it online (looked up coffee body scrub ) and I found an article that said this :

He said the coffee-ground body rub would temporarily firm the skin and boost circulation. The massage technique used when applying the scrub would also help break down cellulite. It is known widely that former supermodel Cindy Crawford uses coffee granules as a body scrub.

Cindy Crawford legs here I come..

I wanted to think of a spiritual twist to end this post.. and here is what I have for you: MY SINS are SCRUBBED away I’ve been CAFFIENED! (or coffee beaned!)

  1. There is never a dull moment with you girl! I think you your love of coffee has gone too far this time. You are so funny! I guess you decide that you had brewed enough and decided against sitting in the steam room. I can just see you laughing and snorting the whole time. Speaking of snorting Rodney ask Michelle if that was her or her sister that snorted when she laughed. You made a real impression on Rodney apparently last time he was here. I had that I didn’t get to talk to you on Monday but Daddy really enjoyed talking to you. Hopefully we will get to talk soon. I love you!!!

  2. Hey Jenn, You know how coffee stains a cup (and sadly our teeth)? Well I was wondering if you came out of this experience with a lovely brownish tint to your skin. If so, soaking in coffee grounds could be the solution to your problem of people staring at you because you are one of only a few white faces in Nepal. Just a thought.

Seriously, I’m so glad you got to be pampered, Saran Wrapped, exfoliated, softened and brewed!

    Love you bunches,
    Sandra

  5. Hi Jenn, Happy to hear from you. I want to pass this award to you also. This is my first award. There are all kinds of awards. Some people collect them-its crazy. I guess it makes them feel validated. I do not want to go that route as it gets complicated and your focus of blogging becomes about who gets what award and why not me? type of thing. I hope T.J. will like it. She is such a good writer. I love her spirit. How are things in Napal? My 60 year old brain is still in awe of the tecnology that lets us visit around the world and state to state. Gheesh- I have been waaayy to long on the computer today. I think i will grab my dear hubby and dine out. It is sunny and a humid 40 degrees. Take care and may God bless your ministry and may many be brought into the Kingdom. Dee
