Thankful Thursday!! (+ a few more pictures of my favorite things!)
A box full of fun games. We play games alot here because what else do you do when there is no power. I love playing games. Leah and I often play Rummikub or mexican train dominoes while listening to teaching tapes. But she always wins!
Movies: These also help when you don’t’ have power.. we time it just right where we start watching on our computer at about 8 o clock at night so we can at least try to stay awake until a reasonable hour!
These are candles that light up our house and smell good sent with love from friends in America. And my laptop.. which allows me (when we have power) to keep in touch with my family. I love love SKYPe which allows me to talk to my awesome family!
This is our precious dalmation Asha full of personality– and the beautiful Tibetan rug that I bought for Leah’s christmas present!
Ok so I thought I would throw in a few more pictures of some of my favorite things. I love how I learn to appreciate the small things here!
Ok.. so also a Thankful Thursday. Here goes
1) I am so thankful for your prayers. They surrond me like a blanket.. I feel them, I move through them.. I survive and thrive because of them! Thank you for praying for my health. I am feeling so much better! I am like a new woman. It feels great to feel great.
2) For packages sent with love from America. I love how loved I am by you folks.. you guys take such great care of me
3) for my incredible family– did i mention how awesome they are. My mom, my dad, my aunts, my granddad, my sis or course and my awesome brother in law. and little alex (who just said his first word.. can’t wait till’ he learns to say autn jen.. he wonders why aunt jenn lives in a “talking box”
4) For my ladies Bible study on Wednesday nights. Last night was awesome. The ladies have become so tight and just really fellowship together, really open up (which is not normal for nepalees). They come back faithfully every week.. Even with my bad nepale, they come. Last night was awesome. I was soo excited about the “word” that God had given me to give them that I could not keep the excitement in. I was talking as fast in nepalee as i do in english.. then it hit me halfway through the lesson.. I am talking as fast in nepalee as i do in english!! glory– the annointing of the lord must have come down on me!
5) My church family in america. They just sent me some sermon tapes. I could not wait to listen to them. I love love love my church family. I love my pastor. I love how real and transparent they are.. I am so glad to count myself a part of that body of christ even in nepal. I am loving listening to the sermons right as I type!
6) My morning times with Jesus in the word. First I stumble into the kitchen wrapped in my warm fleece pj’s.. then boil some water, then put it in my yummy french press.. Then I sit at my kitchen table and just wait for God to show up.. and HE DOES. Right now I am studying Romans 8 (memorizing).. there is NO condemnation in Christ Jesus! I am also studying the Beth Moore Bible study Stepping up on the psalms of Ascent, and a David study by Beth Moore, Kay Arthur and Priscilla Shier.
7) laughter: You have to laugh when you see a traffic cop having to direct traffic around the piles of trash (the trash men are on strike again), or when your lights go out when they are not supposed to , or when you make a stupid mistake. Laughter is such a blessing. I love laughign with my two best nepalee friends. They are such a HUGE blessing to me. I am so glad that God brought me them, and that they are in my home everyday. I love how I have seen them grow in Christ by leaps and bounds.
8) my roomate leah. We laugh together, pray together, sit in the dark together.. do ministry and life together. She is a huge blessing
9) the crazy random things that happen here. Like right now our chicken is outside jumping on the trampoline (i’m not lying.) hilarous
10) I am a grandma. Our big mama goat had a baby a couple of weeks ago. Sorry I forgot to send out the birth announcements and let you know. He (or she now sure what really) is such a cute baby goat.
