Fuzzy bathrobes, hot tea, turkey macaroni and GLORY
Leah and I eating our hotdogs in the midst of the new falling snow.. a great end to our day. God’s gift!!!! (Stockholm Sweden)
Me and my Boyfriend that I met in Stockholm Sweden!
Stockholm Sweden
This was my friend Billy the Boar.. He look real.. he may have been at one time.. but don’t worry He was not at this time .. He was in Stockholm Sweden
Me with a yummy mocha latte at a coffee shop in Stockholm Sweden.. had to show you a coffee picture of course!
Hey guys. I am sorry that I have not written much this week.. the bad news is we got our new power outage schedule this week and well.. we have about 8 hours of scheduled power outage a day… this is building towards the nasty rumor we heard that in the middle of the winter we will have 14 hours of power out a day. Somedays I truly feel like I am the little house on the prarie. I hum the theme song and just picture myself as Ma or Laura Ingles! 🙂
So I am sitting here in my fuzzy pink bathrobe that I love. My mom sent it to me last year. It’s keeping me sane here as it is COLD inside our house.. funny it’s way colder inside our house then outside. I am sitting in my fuzzy pink bathrobe, sipping peppermine tea, (i needed something hot inside of me!!! ) listening to christmas music and starting at our charlie brown christmas tree that sometimes blinks sometimes doesn’t.. not sure why! Just thanking God for the little things. Like Christmas music, fuzzy pink bathrobes and turkey mac and cheese. See our house worker cracks me up. She gets creativce with box things from america.. she does not understand the concept that everything is included and you just follow the directions. One day she made cornbread mix into a yellow cake somehow. .. and it was good. today the sponge bob square pants kraft mac and cheese that someone had sent came out looking different then i’m sure it ever has before. Not sure what all she put in it.. but I know one thing she put in it was turkey leftovers!! hilarious.. and it was yummy. And as I was sipping my hot tea, listening to christmas music, eating turkey mac and cheese in my fuzzy pink bathrobe… laughing my head off with our house helper (who also happens to one of my best nepalee friends here!) staring at my charlie brown christmas tree I just feel soo blessed. It’s the little gifts. James 1 says that every good and perfect gift comes down from our Father of lights.. who DOES NOT change (Jenn’s paraphrase!) Even fuzzy pink bathrobes sent by wonderful mama’s, rangie changie (colorful) Tibetan wool socks to keep my feet warm, christmas music and a christmas tree that eternally leans.. God sends so many little gifts of love our way. apple cinnamon scented candles, learning how to make homemade apple cider, yellow dandelions, the himilayan mountains, my family, my warm blanket, packages sent packed with love from friends, laughing, spending an hour in language lessons with my cute old nepalee teacher realizing that 16 months ago I only knew about one word of this language and now can fluently speak it.. (MAHIMA).. so many little and big blessings. So I want to hear from you my loyal readers.. what little things are you thankful for you that you experienced in your day today. What good and perfect gifts? (oh yeah.. and right now I’m very thankful that the power is on!)
Blessings
Jenn
Jenn,
I love your pics! It’s good to hear from you through your blog. I hope that this Christmas season God would pour His love into you as you pour it out onto others which you always do. You should’ve put some tinsel in that boar then he and Bucky would match. 🙂 I love you sis!
i love your coffee pics- they make me smile 🙂 Also, that boyfriend of yours is a keeper, heehee 😉
Your turkey macaroni friend sounds so creative 🙂
I am thankful for the frost on my window this morning (yes, strange, i know… but when you don't see frost for 2 years you get excited when you do:))
I'm thankful for the long drive to work in the morning that I get to spend waking up 😉
I'm thankful that my co-worker was out today b/c she has an awesome heater and I'm borrowing it for the day (it's freezing in this office!!)
& I'm thankful that even though most of my really close friends are so far away i can keep up with them still 🙂
love you!!!!
Jenn, I am so thankful for the chance to hear about your adventures in Nepal! I am always in awe at how you remain so chipper even when in the worst of worst conditions. I am so thankful for your gentle reminders of what all this is really about.
I am thankful for healthy children and a husband who wants to be a family man. I am thakful that we sit down to dinner every night together. I am especially thankful for this homeschooling journey! The Lord has made it very clear to me that no one is going to love my children like I do…
thanks Jenn for your encouragment, and helping me to see my “hot” showers with more perspective.
love you!
I am so thankful for the best sis in the whole world. I love you Jenn……I love seeing your pics. I look at them over and over~
I am thankful that you love Nepal so much and that God has blessed your time there. It is great to see you doing so well in the language and being very effective in using it to minister. I am very proud of all you have done in just a little more than a year! We so want to be there but know that God has given us this saeson for His reasons. Tell Leah and the team hello for us and give Asha big hug for me!
