welcome back to nepal

Leah and swimming in the mediterranean sea.. so beautiful.. the water was warm.. the air outside chilly.. but we had to swim in it of course

of course there had to be a coffee picture. This is wendall and I drinking what was one of the best lattes i have ever had in a little coffee shop on the island of Gozo.

Me and Leah and Donna and Wendall visiting something famous.. can’t remember what right now.. sorry..

Leah and I on the land side of the stone window on the island of Gozo.

This is called the natural stone window on the island of Gozo. It was incredible. We rode a boat right under it. Hilarous, no one mentioned how rocky the boat ride would be. I alternated between loving the scenery and trying not to toss my lunch into that beautiful blue water

Me and my crazy wind blown hair look

Me, Malta and the sea

This is the gorgeous water we saw when we hiked out to popeye village.. have never seen anything quite like this.

Me on a little hike to a village in Malta.. gorgeous huh.. (hehhee.. the scenery.. and me to of course!)

This the rainbow that greeted us when we got off the plane in malta. Love it. It was God’s promise to us of a great time. It had rained the entire week before we got there and hardly rained at all while we were there. Praise the Lord.

Hello friends. I am so sorry that i am just now updating you. Just so you know I made it back to nepal safely! 🙂 Just remember now I am back in the land of very frequent power outages (just in fact got word that we will have 14 hours of required power OUTAGES a day this winter.. glory) so it is taking me a while to get this blog updated. And the internet is a bit slow, but slowly and surely I will get pictures up of my incredible trip so that you can experience God’s blessings with me. Thanks for praying for me during the trip. .. it was awesome. It was perfect really. I cannot imagine it going any better at all.
It’s hilarious because we were totally quickly welcomed back into the norm of nepalee life. Yesterday for example I went to get a package at the post office (THANK YOU SOO MUCH LEANNE… IT WAS THE PERFECT PACKAGE. i LOVED IT!) and what should have been about a 20 minute journey home turned into about 2 hours ish because all the roads were blocked by tire burning riots. IT was quite the journey. I had my pregnant friend ashley on teh back of my scooter.. and she was carrying a huge box between us that she had gotten at the post office. We drove in a huge circle trying to find a road that was unblocked and then finally had to park in front of the protest and circle of police and just wait until they were finished burning tires! Welcome back. Then went home to take a shower.. had not had one in a couple of days due to traveling.. ICEY cold.. no more setting off smoke alarms due to hot shower like in ireland.. welcome back to nepal! 😉

Now back to the trip. London was alot of fun. We had a blast with the couple that we met in nepal (in case you forgot we just me this couple randomly in a shop in kathmandu, they said they lived in london, left the shop and came back 10 minutes later and offered their house and assistance to us when we came!) They were such a huge blessing to us. They gave us their house keys for goodness sakes. Keep praying for them to come to know our Lord and Savior. I hope that we somehow were able to share the love of Jesus wtih them. God timed our time in london perfectly. The day we got there we spent the day wondering around the London Tower Castle, (favorite part was seeing the awesome crown jewels.. the left me breathless) which we loved. I discovered that I love historoy especially when it comes alive as you are walking through it!) Then we walked over the london tower bridge at night, (beautiful) then grabbed a bite to eat at mcdonalds (hey had to get our american food in us) then went to the copule’s house. They were so helpful in helping us know how to get around london and such. The next day we went by train/underground into central london again. Got to see Big Ben, Parliment, then a changing of guards at the ministry of defense. Cool thing– I really wanted to see the famous changing of the guards at buckingham palace, since well it’s famous. I wanted to see those soldier guys that WILL NOT laugh or move (and i can attest to that, even my snorting laughter did not work!) So we walked through this beautiful park and ended up accidently guess where.. buckingham palace.. right IN THE MIDDLE OF THE CHANGING OF THE GUARDS… so not only did we get to see it go on behind the gates, we got in the middle of the pardade of the soldiers as the CHANGED ones paraded out. It was awesome. We went from there to eat some lunch overlooking Trafalgar square.. (which is apparently famous but I am not quite sure why!) then we took the underground over to St. Paul’s catherdral.. talk about awesome. There has been a church on that site since 604 AD. Amazing. You have to pay to go in but there is one section where you can go in for free and pray. So leah and I of course took advantage of that. It was really neat to pray in there thinking of all the people that have prayed in there over the centuries. Then we went to london museum, walked by big ben and parliment to see them lit up at night, saw a gorgous sunset and went to visit the outside of Westminster Abby. It was awesome. That night the london couple had made dinner of lamb casserole and brussel sprouts and mince pies for us.. it actually was really great. The next morning they took us to a traditional British tea house where I tried to act proper.. but you know I cannot. It was soo cool. We had our coffee in fine China, had scones and Maid of Honor tarts.. the full British experience. It was a great end. Then leah and i did a little of shopping at T. K max (british version of TJ max I guess) then we took train and bus to the airport.. had a smooth flight, went and spent 6 hours in the ABU DHABI (Wherever that is) laying on the floor in the corrider trying to sleep, then on to our next flight, then back to nepal! Alright, well I will end this post for now. Some pictures for now.. more later.. tommorow I will put more pictures up, and talk some about what the Lord showed me on this trip. Thanks for your prayers. By the way did I mention how thankful I am for you!
