So I was reading my sisters blog today (www.gingerbreadfam.blogspot.com) and it was hilarous. It was titled you know you are pregant and about to have a baby if….. (or something like that .. sorry if I misquoted you michelley belly .. ) so it inspired me to write this blog.
You know you have lived in Nepal one year when/if….
You see a fly in your cup of juice and instead of getting a new cup you just pick the bug out and drink anyway.
You find it very unusual if you take a shower before day four of not having had one
You are suprised when the lights turn on 🙂
You are not suprised to see four cows taking a nap in a busy intersection
You can smell the Bagmati river coming for miles away
You have a pet goat named Bagmati after the river
You walk down the street and hear precious kids cry out Jaymassee Jenn didi.
You honk your horn at more in five minutes driving your purple scooter then you ever did your whole life in america
You learn how to use sign language with your fam when you can’t understand skype well… or learn to translate their english between white noise
You are awakened every morning by the lady ringing her bell in the house that you can literally touch out your window to wake up her god
You can see a Christian from a mile away because of the contrast of God’s light versus Satan’s darkness here.
You shout mahima (glory) if there is hot water.. and you know when to time it right to approximate the right slant of the sun tot he hot water heater and how many people havce used water in the house.. hehehe
You save jars under the cabinet to be used for poop samples. and you have more then once taken a team members poop sample to the lab
Diarrhea is normal dinner table conversation
You think it’s weird to go out and not be stared at!
You sometimes dream in nepalee.. and break out in dance like you are in a Hindi film

You have a scooter named the purple pleasure– a matching purple helmet and think you look especially good when you wear your purple crocs
You dream about real mayfield milk and you don’t even like to drink milk. 🙂
You sometimes feel like you are living on little house on the prarie… like when you strain your own cream to make cottage cheese
you make a chocholate cake from scratch tonight for bible study with totally made up ingridients and it actually tastes good
you have seen a pig slaughtered and eaten it for dinner and though it tasted good

You know your jesus in a way like you never thought you would…

jenn. i’m loving your post. it was much funnier than mine..hey I have the best news for you. Guess what. you were quoted by the none other than….BETH MOORE! yup.i’m not making this up. ON the living proof ministries blog, she had her video for this weeks bible study! SHE READ YOUR COMMENT FROM LAST TIMES VIDEO FOR EVERYONE! I’m not making this up! So now you can say you were quoted by Beth Moore. However, she must have misread your name, because she called you Jean…I about jumped out of my seat. Is that not the coolest thing ever!
1) You are hilarious!
2) The entire time I was reading your post I kept waiting for you to mention poop and you didn’t disappoint me.
3) According to Michelle’s comment you are now famous in the best sort of way!
I love you!
wow.. i was quoted by beth moore– wow wow wow.. who cares if she called me Jean.. i can now say I have been quoted by Beth Moore.. mahima!
Jenn,
You know you are filled with the joy of the Lord and completely engulfed in His grace when you can not only endure, but shine for Him in the midst of so many inconvenient, unbelievable and hysterical circumstances. I was laughing so much at your list, but I was also praising God for the miraculous way He has equipped you and sustained you as you fulfill His call to bring light into a very dark part of the world.
I was already so impressed by you, and then I read that Beth Moore quoted you! I’ll bet you danced a jig and started the process of changing your name to Jean! Mahima! Mahima! Mahima!
Love you bunches,
Sandra
Jenn,
You are too much! Thanks for making us all smile, and showing us how to cerish the “simple” things. I am sorry I have not posted in awhile. Love you!
