ke garne (what to do.. famous nepalee saying)

Howdy folks… (there is still some southern in me.. actually maybe now more then ever. I am always saying britches around here…. i don’t recall saying that even on my most southern day in good old TN.
Hope that you guys have had an incredible week. Mine was a busy week but a really great one. Busy full of visa stuff.. i tell you what.. they don’t make it easy to stay in this country now adays.. it’s quite the process. We decided since the student visa thing isnt go so well that we would try a research visa.. so we wrote a research proposal as fast as you can say ke garne (what to do) and got the 3,000 dollars that we needed in the bank.. (hehhe.. don’t ask about our methods ok! ) got ready and went to the office and they inform us they are closed for political unrest and that they are pretty sure no way they could get us in 2 weeks what we need… we asked how long the political unrest closed thing would be.. well.. he said who knows. Leah and I hopped back on scooty and we just had to laugh. Of course we would get the research proposal written, and run into the man walking into his office but he tells us he’s closed. Ke garne (what to do ) is a phrase we use here to keep sane. It means the situation is crazy impossible and things are going wrong wrong wrong.. but ke garne.. you can’t do anything about it so why not just laugh. So that’s what leah and I did. We had a hearty laugh and I said either satan doesn’t want us here or God really wants us in another country. No luck on the student visa so far either.. but our God is in control and I feel such an incredible peace… God’s peace is amazing and that God is in control is an amazing feelikng. I will keep you guys posted!

  3. I’m sad about the random “cutting off” of our skype conversation this morning, but I hope we get to make up for it later. It was good to chat with you while I had the chance. Love you!!
