bagel making kindof day

Oila (i think that means something in spanish.. i’m not sure.. but in nepalee means maybe).. I just wanted to start out in a different language and change things up a bit! How are you guys doing? I realize that i have fallen very behind on my blogging and i am super sorry to all my faithful readers. I will do better.. it’s just we’ve again been having some internet issues…

Today was a bagel making kind of day– along with a huge historical day in nepal’s history. We stayed home today because there was a bundah (strike). Why? Because today the first meeting of the consititute assembly met ever in nepal (the new C*omm*ist government). At three o-clock they were supposed to sign something that kicked teh king out of his palace. I cannot even pretend to understand nepalee politics and as my friend ashley says I should probablly stay away from writing on it on my blog due to my ignorance (and by the way every nepalee you ask has something different to say).. but anyways– the gist is this is a HUGE deal for nepal because even though the king has not been in power since april of last year he was still a figure head and they have had a king in nepal since nepal started as a nepal.. so at 3:00 they were supposed to sign a document that made it a comm*ist republic.. huge stuff. We expected it to get pretty nasty around here because the king has an army that is loyal to him and then there is a Co*munist army– which having two armies is never good… but from what i have heard so far things are pretty calm.. just a few bomb blasts (hehee..which in america not calm.. here.. calm…) I have not heard the news yet though after the 3:00 signing so we shall see.. i think they decided to give the king two more weeks to get out or they will use force.. I don’t know.. like I said I don’t understand it all.. all I know is Nepal and it’s people really need prayers! Thanks guys

SO since I stayed home today I made bagels and soft pretzals.. yummy i must say while tooting my own horn. The bad thing is I did not expect to many woman to come to Bible study tonight due to all the days excitement but there were 15 ladies and 3 of them were new. God never seems to amaze me. Did I mention how much I love those ladies. Did I mention how humbling it is to try to teach a bible study in another language. God is so good and He always gives me the grace and the strength i need. Then after Bible study a lady that I went to grad school with came over for dinner– she is in kathmandu visiting her daughter. How cool.. it was quite the blessing to fellowship with her all the way over here in kathmandu nepal.

This week has been a great week. I seriously cannot believe that May is almost over.. wow.. time flies when you are having fun and trying to get a visa.

This surely is a random blog huh? I have some sad news. My dog that we are dogsitting for asha had puppies on sunday. I actually got to see them born. it was really neat.. but all 3 of them died.. we’re not sure what happened but I was really sad. They were cute dalmatians.

ok.. ladies (or others who want to read my bible study) I am finished with the introduction to my Bible study and i am just trying to figure out how to post it online so that people can read it. As soon as I figure that out.. you will be getting info on it. I had so much fun writing it. I must say the Lord gave me some exciting stuff for Chapter one.. I am so excited because writing a womens bible study is a dream come true for me.

ok… i’m going to go for now. I am soo far behind in e-mailing.. so for those of you whom i have not e-mailed in a while.. i am so sorry just know that it is not because I don’t lvoe you because i love you alot alot.. i’m just behind.. i will get to you i promise

  1. “God never seems to amaze me” – i think you mean “ceases”, not “seems”!!!! 😉

praying for you, girl. i wish i had one of your bagels right now. my tummy is rumbly!!!

  2. Hey again, it’s your Auntie Brenda. Just wondering….will you teach me to make bagels and soft pretzels someday? Sure sounds yummy. I got tickled at your sister saying she tried to make cinnamon rolls yet again for your mama and they didn’t turn out. That wasn’t funny…the funny part was her saying she didn’t get the Betty Crocker gene like you. You have become quite the little baker, haven’t you? I need to try different things like you. I have been making Amish bread though. Aunt Laura gave me the starter for it. Over the weekend we had 30 people at the lake for Memorial Day and I made 8 loaves. Five of them got eaten and I sent one home with someone and we put the other two in the freezer for later. Gotta go nite-nite. Byeeee, love you, Aunt Brenda
