Jaymasee. Maph garnu ma tacha newya blog entry kam gana chaincha kinabanay mero entry dilo bylo tera internet birgrio (I said that I am so sorry because I know I am late in writing a blog entry because our internet has been broken)
I pray that you all are doing well. We have been doing fine. For all of you that have been praying for the elections thank you so much. Right now the results are showing that ovehwhelming majority the M*ao/ist (coded for security reasons) party will win. I am very sad for this country as this is a terr*0rist type c*ommunist group.. but at the same time as so glad that we can rest in the sovereignty of God! We talked at our team prayer meeting tonight that we are reminded that some of the greatest chuch growths over history have been during times of persecution and God could use this in mighty ways to purify and strengthen his church here! So please keep praying for the time when the election results officially come out as the paties that lost could make things nasty… And things probablly will not change to much at first .. but these that were elected will draft the constitution.. that’s when much prayer is needed. As my team leader pointed out tonight it is very likely that in 2 years we will not be able to be here.. so it makes our work very urgant now! Again I am learning to rest in God. I love these people. But you know what I am reminded.. my God loved them soo much more.. in fact he proved it. He looked across time and space and saw them worshipping their idols, their stone images that cannot talk or answer their prayers.. he saw this.. His heart was moved.. He had compassion on them and He stretched out his hands and his feet on a cross and shed his blood.. What heights of love.. so as much as I love nepal and the people, God loves them more… so I can rest in this!
Last night I experienced one of the most powerful communion services. We at our age 20something foreigne fellowship broke the bread of communion together and confessed our sins together and just celebrated God’s grace and forgiveness together. We sang IN CHRIST ALONE which was sung at my commissioning service and it was so good to have that reminder. It has incredible words which have really ministered to me as I remember that it is in Christ alone that I can stand. We who have truly no exclamation points in our life here in nepal right now only question marks.. we are IN CHRIST ALONE!
In other happy updates on my life.. I just must say I have been so blessed by our new teammates matt and ashley. I have gotten to spend much time with them lately and they have become such special dear friends. We spent elecction day and the days following with them. I love their hearts fo ministry and the things that i learn from them (spiritual things and things like how to cook homemade popcorn and not burn it and how to make yummy bagles). I just really felt on my heart tonight to ask you to pray for them also since I know most of you know our team but do not know them. They have two of the CUTEST boys in the world and I get lots of time practicing being Aunt Jenn to them! (they ae 6 months and 18 months) Please add them to you prayer list also.
Oh yeah– the title ( I mean i am really going on today– well i have a lot to say and you never know when our power will go out so I’m just going for it.. if you need to .. take a break.. go get some coffee and a bagel from panera make youself comfy and enjoy!) Today was an absolutly beautiful day. It’s midterm week at the college so no classes, and no language because my teacher is in his village. So we packed up to cars ( our team leader and his wife, their kids, her mom, me and leah and matt and ashley and their kids and our oprhans and a few other kids sprinkled in who i don’t quite know how they came along!) and we went to resort about 30 minutes away to go swimming. I must say it was an incredible day! It was so fun to spend time with the orphan kids and our “m” family here in nepal. It’s hysteical because we were almost more excited about the possibility of taking a hot showe there then the pool.. How great is that. And Dad poster child for sunscreen guy– i put on more sunscreen then usual because well nepalees love that i am white.. there is no pressue to be brown here. If I am out in the sun a little bit they say oh Jenn you are kallo (black ) now.. this is not good. O when I turn red they say Jenn Gobada Ho (JEnn is a tomatoe) So I lathered up and had a grand old time.
ok.. you know what.. i should stop now. This should win some award for being so long.. so sorry
