out of breath from… jumping on the trampoline

I realize that is the most random post heading in the world.. but well I did come in out of breath from jumping on the new trampoline in our backyard. I have really been struggling with the whole I have no desire to exercise some days here in nepal and avoid the chicken, cows, staring people and the diesell fuels that for sure gives you the Black lung here….. so i decided to take a break from my preparation of the lesson I am teaching my Biblical counseling class tommorow (is it possible to be a procrastinator when you are the college professor.. my answer.. YES!) so tonight I decided to try out the new trampoline. it’s load shedding time.. no power so all the neighbors cannot stare. I took my i-pod out there and had me some jumping worship time with Jesus. It was awesome.. that is until the dog asha ran under the trampoline and i jumped on her.. she DID Not appreciate that. But anywho.. i had to come in when the lights came back on because all teh neighbors were getting a show.. but who knew trampoline jumping may just be my new favorite form of health pleasure (I don’t want to call it exercise or I will not like it)

So today was a grand old day. Well mostly. I and my scooty went to the nepalee visa office this morning promtly at 10 o clock because that is when they are supposed to open. I should have known that means they opened at 11. Then after waiting in line and hour they tell me that I have to talk to some head honcho somebody or something ornother because my visa had expired 3 weeks ago and he was on holiday that maybe he would be there tommorow. Translation– go tommorow but he probablly wont be there. Ke garne. Oh well.. at least no tourist jail today! 🙂

Then I had accountability time with my new accountability partner betsy. I convienently asked her to meet me at a Christian cafe (they sell great homemade banana bread and waffles) that also happens to be a place where they emply these precious single mom’s and widows who are all Christians (the place is run by M’s) to give 2 hour massages for CHEAP. You know I really wanted to minister to someone today– so I thought who better then to help these ladies in the name of Jesus. So in the name of JEsus I scheduled myself a massage at 1:00 and they escorted me up the steps into 2 hours of heaven.. I am pretty sure Jesus was right by my side.
Then me and my greasy hair and so relaxed body jumped on scooty and returned home in time to teach my Bible study. It was a small group tonight so there was more discussion time and it was soo awesome. Can I just tell you what I learned as I was studying for tonight.

I am currently trying to memorize Isaiah 43.. this chapter in the Bible is incredible if you have not read it! the part that really got me today is verse 2 when it says Do Not fear I have CALLED YOU by name.. you are mine… isn’t that just awesome. God revealed to me that when He called people by name in the Bible following that He gave them a job to do. And if He had called them by name then obviously He knew that they could handle the job. For example Exodus 3 God called Moses Moses and then proceded to tell him he was going to be the instrument used to set the Isrealites free from the bondage of the Egyptians. … in 1 Samual God called Samuel Samuel and then Samuel had to go tell Eli what God had said about his evil sons. Then in Acts God called out Saul Saul why are you persecuting me and then proceeded later to tell him how he would be a mighty instrument in God’s hands. Notice the pattern.. first name calling then God glorifying work. God called me Jenn and then said go to nepal for my glory. Obviously he thought he could make me adequate. He called TJ and then said write and work at AAA for my glory (and be jenn’s prayer warrior for my glory) He called to Casey then said travel the world then work at the UA for a time for my glory.. He called to my dad and said Mike be an engineer/pool shark/doctor/every hobby imaginable/rock muscian/chef pooey and said for my glory do these things (my dad is a man of many hobbies and talents as you know) He called to Vicky Hand and said be the best mom in such a way that it makes both of your daughters be wanna be world changers (and she did) He called Sandra by name and then said be Jenn’s personal prayer warrior/encourager/defionatly gets the award for most card sender 🙂

ok.. you get the point I hope. God has called you by name.. then he has called you OUT for his MAHIMA!

oh by the way– on a not so spiritual note.. i got my nose repierced yesterday– i am such a rebel! pray for me ok… 🙂

  5. Jenn,

I know that God has called everyone who reads this blog by name and that He is using them to bring glory to Himself. I also know that God brought my name to your mind because He knew I needed to be encouraged that I can still do something for Him.

My struggle with chronic pain has been limiting me more and more in the things I’m able to do. I wasn’t able to attend church last Sunday which really made me sad. I always look forward to going to Sunday school and church, but this particular week was special because my daughter, Shannon, was singing a solo – one of my favorite songs, “You Were There.”

As I was driving into work today, I had a another moment of sadness about not getting to hear her sing. Well wouldn’t you know it, that song came on the radio just as I was pulling into the parking lot. (I haven’t heard it played for a couple of years now.) I sat in my car and wept tears of joy as I realized that God was telling me that He cares about the smallest ache of my heart and that He is always THERE.

Jenn, God is right there beside you as you drink coffee and talk to Him every morning. He’s there when you’re dodging cows in the road. He’s there when you’re teaching your ladies Bible study. And He’s there as close as your breath when you’re missing your family so much it hurts. He was, He is and He will always be right THERE – inside you, surrounding you, holding you, loving you.

Thank you so much for the encouragement.

    Love you bunches,
    Sandra

Have you ever thought about doing an online Bible study with those of us across the world that don’t get a chance to learn from your teaching? Seriously, I would love to learn what you are learning from the word. I think you really have a gift…get back on this one okay.
