Lazy spring day– for you worriers

Hello to all my prayer warriors/worrying friends and family–
If you saw my day today you would not be worried.. I promise. Things may go crazy tommorow during elections.. but well today has just been an awesome lazy spring day. Election time means nothing is open/no language classes/no Bible college classes which equates to enjoying a holiday. It’s been a hysterical day to because nepalee friends have come by pretty much all day so it’s been alot of fun.
This week has been really good.. aside for the spiritual warfare and the praying for my people here that God will keep them safe… I had a really funny experience the other day. I went out on purple pleasure to go to the store (for those of you new to my life the purple pleasure is my motorcyle.. it’s really a scooter but I can call it a motorcycle because it has a motor and it moves and that sounds so much cooler) so I was out on the pleasure and someone I drove and got stuck right in the middle of the biggest communist party rally i have seen so far. . They were all on their motorcycles with their communist flags flying and I couldn’t go anywhere.. so there I was on my motorcycle in the midst of this rally… the white girl surronded by communists. I feared they would take my picture as I stuck out on the pleasure with my blonde hair flying in the wind and post it on the kathmandu post.. white girl gone communist! how do I get myself into those thinsg.

So for all you worriers.. let me tell you about my day before election day. It’s aboslutly gorgeous outside.. the sun is shining and no rain.. which is abnormal lately.. all the Bible college students are over digging a huge hole in our yard because they are putting a giant trampoline in… so I have spent the day laughing with them, providing drinks and snacks for them ect.. then my teammate/friends matt and ashley and their adorable little boys came over so we hung out also.. And guess what in between all that I did.. I betty crocker made homemade bagels.. who knew you could make bagels? I only thought panera knew how. I even cut up onions and garlic ect and made them everything bagels.. And let me tell you.. not to toot my own horn but they were awesome. I loved them! unfortunatly I loved them ALOT so that could be bad because now I will want them all the time! Ke garne (what to do) I realize that bagels were something I missed alot. My husband (if I ever get one) will be really really excited that I lived in Nepal because I have learned to make all kinds of things.
So between hanging out and enjoying the sunshine and making bagels it has been an awesome day. Tonight is ladies bible study and then we are going over to matt and ashleys house to pray for the elections tommorow and hang out. Then our plans for election day? Our friends matt and ashley live really close (like 1 minute away walking) so we are goinjg to have an election prayer party at their house and pray and just enjoy playing games and such together.
I love the peace of God. He has given me a peace that passes all understanding. I know that our God is sovereign and he controls the results of these elections.. he loves these people way more then I could ever.. and HE will break the stronghold of Satan here.. even if that means that the Christians will have to go back to being persecuted and times of intense trouble. God reigns.. and I feel so privilidged to be here on the front lines. I will keep you updated as much as possible tommorow. They are cutting off cell phones tonight, so I am not sure about internet.. So if you don’t here from me tommorow.. don’t worry!
Thank you thank you thank you for praying
now I have to go.. i’m going to make some more bagels 🙂

  3. Jenn,

Praise God for a lazy spring day in the midst of a country in turmoil! What a difference the peace of God makes in how we face the difficulties of life. I’m beyond amazed at the grace of God that enables you to feel so safe and secure in what sounds like a very unstable and dangerous situation. You are a portrait of “being still and knowing that He is God.”

We’ll all keep praying and trusting the King of King who rules over all the kingdoms of this world.

    Love you bunches,
    Sandra

  4. Bagels? Never have thought of doing that. You and Jeanan! She made vanilla wafers! Glad things are going okay now. Enjoy the sunshine. I am too, been working in the yard. I’m praying everything goes peacefully. I love you so much, Aunt Brenda

  5. Jenn,

I am pryaing for you and the elections. God is so amazing when he gives us a peace in the middle of chaos. I have never met anyone so willing to jump in the center of HIS will and stay there so wholeheartedly! When you come home, please hold cooking class for all of us to learn to bake from scratch!

    Love ya,
    leanne

  6. I’m glad to hear they’re finally going for it with the hole. That’s better than leaving it as a creepy alien circle in the yard. It’s good that they’re starting now before the LEECHES come out. I’ve been praying for you and all the sweet friends I made there. I love you and I’m especially praying that the Lord provides some sort of communication for you tomorrow so you can let people know what happened.
